We often talk about emotions but how often do we truly feel and express them through our body?

PICS Nepal conducted a Dance Movement Therapy-informed session, where participants explored emotional expression and stress release through movement.

Through simple yet powerful body-based activities, participants experienced that emotions are not just in the mind, but are deeply held and expressed in the body.

A gentle reminder — healing doesn’t always begin with talking; sometimes, it begins with simply moving 🌿

The session was facilitated by Mamata Gurung and event led by Ashim Malla. 💚

Art and Expressive Therapy 🎨✨

PICS NEPAL successfully conducted an Art and Expressive Therapy session, creating a safe and creative space for participants to explore and express their emotions beyond words.

Through activities like drawing, painting, and journaling, participants were encouraged to slow down, reflect, and connect with themselves in a gentle and meaningful way. The session highlighted how art can become a powerful medium for emotional expression, self-awareness, and stress relief. 🌱

It was inspiring to witness participants openly engage in the creative process and embrace the experience with curiosity and openness. Moments like these remind us that healing and self-expression can take many different forms.

The session was facilitated by Jyoti Jha Ma’am and event led by Shubhangi Joshi. 💚

The 20-Minute Mood Shift ⏳✨

Self-help techniques for when you feel low – Part 3

How to do it:
✅ Set a timer for 20 minutes and do ONE physical activity.
(For example: Walk outside, clean a small space, take a shower, or stretch while listening to music.)

✅ Commit fully for 20 minutes only.

Why this helps? 🧠
✅ Mood is strongly linked to behavior. Even light movement can help activate energy-related chemicals in the brain.

✅ Often, motivation doesn’t come before action—it comes after it. Small actions can gently shift your emotional state and help you feel less stuck. 🌱

You don’t need to “fix” everything today. Sometimes, 20 minutes is enough to reconnect with yourself. 💚

Mindfulness, Meditation, and Mental Well-being 🌿🧠

PICS NEPAL successfully conducted a session on “Mindfulness, Meditation, and Mental Well-being” with the Grade 9 students of Erudite Academy. The session was facilitated by Sachi Gautam, Aarju Thapa, and Sheela Pandey.

The program created an interactive and reflective space where students explored the importance of staying present, understanding their emotions, and managing stress in healthier ways. At the beginning, many students found it challenging to stay mindful and focus on the present moment, as their minds were easily distracted. However, as the session progressed, they gradually became more comfortable and actively engaged in the mindfulness activities.

Through breathing exercises and guided meditation practices, students experienced moments of calmness, relaxation, and emotional ease. Their active participation and openness made the session even more meaningful and impactful.

We are encouraged to see young individuals becoming more aware of their mental well-being and learning simple yet effective techniques to improve focus and manage daily stress. 🌱

Thank you to Erudite Academy for providing this platform and prioritizing the mental well-being of students.
