The Ministry of Finance has officially announced the removal of tax on assistive devices for the Hard of Hearing in the national fiscal report released yesterday! 🙌
This is a major victory for accessibility and inclusion, made possible through the tireless advocacy of SHRUTI and the unwavering support of:

🏥 OPDs dedicated to the Hard of Hearing community

We were truly honored to welcome Mr. Greg Klemn, Deputy Head of Mission at the Australian Embassy, to our workshop titled "Improvement of Education for Young Children with Hearing Loss in Mainstream Schools," held on 23 May 2025. This important initiative was supported by the Direct Aid Program (DAP) of the Australian Government.
Despite his demanding schedule, Mr. Klemn graciously joined us in person, actively engaged in the program, and delivered an inspiring and heartfelt speech that deeply resonated with everyone present.
We are equally grateful to Ms. Samikshya Niroula, Department Head at Kathmandu Metropolitan City, for her presence and thoughtful remarks. Her valuable insights and ongoing support significantly enriched the dialogue and direction of the workshop.
SHRUTI extends its heartfelt gratitude to both esteemed guests for their time and encouragement. We also sincerely thank the Australian Embassy, Kathmandu Metropolitan City, and all the dedicated parents, teachers, staff, and SHRUTI members who contributed to making this workshop a meaningful and memorable success.

गण्डकी प्रदेशमा सुस्त श्रवण समुदायको सशक्तिकरणतर्फ एक महत्वपूर्ण कदम! 👂🏼🌱
श्रुति संस्थाको समन्वयमा तथा Abilis फाउन्डेसनको आर्थिक सहयोगमा, बैशाख २३ र २४ गते पोखरा उपमहानगरपालिकामा दुई दिने "सीआरपीडी र दिगो विकास लक्ष्य (SDGs)" सम्बन्धी तालिम सफलतापूर्वक सम्पन्न भएको जानकारी गराउँदा हामी अत्यन्तै गर्वित छौं।

A Significant Step Toward the Empowerment of the Hard of Hearing Community in Gandaki Province! 👂🏼🌱
We are extremely proud to share that, under the coordination of SHRUTI and with the financial support of Abilis Foundation, a two-day training on "CRPD and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)" was successfully conducted on Baisakh 23 and 24 at Pokhara Metropolitan City.
On this occasion, a Hard of Hearing Group was established in Pokhara, Gandaki Province, under the leadership of Diana Shrestha — a truly inspiring and visionary initiative toward building an inclusive society.
SHRUTI expresses its heartfelt gratitude to the hard of hearing individuals in Pokhara Metropolitan City for their enthusiastic participation and support in the training and group formation.
In particular, we deeply appreciate the meaningful contributions made by Secretary Bhojraj Bhujel and Vice President Dhaneshwori Gurung in making this effort a success.
Likewise, to ensure accessibility, participation, and inclusion of hard of hearing persons, SHRUTI extends special thanks to Hon. Prakash Baral and Dr. Maya Lama for their valuable coordination in facilitating fruitful discussions with the Deputy Mayor of Pokhara Metropolitan City, the Director of Gandaki Provincial Hospital, and INF.

With coordination from the National Federation of the Disabled – Sudurpashchim and financial support from Abilis Foundation, a two-day training on CRPD and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) was successfully conducted on Baisakh 18–19 in Dhangadhi Sub-Metropolitan City.
On this occasion, SHRUTI is proud to announce the formation of a Sudurpashchim-level Hard of Hearing Group, chaired by Koirala Paribartan.
