Post-Peel Care Guide (Dermatologist Recommended)
⏱ First 24–48 Hours – The Critical Window
• Cleanse gently with a mild, soap-free wash and lukewarm water
• Keep skin moisturized using ceramide-rich or petrolatum-based creams
• Avoid direct sunlight as much as possible
• Wear broad-spectrum SPF 50+ (preferably mineral) and reapply every 2–3 hours if outdoors
• Pause all actives—no retinoids, AHAs/BHAs, vitamin C or benzoyl peroxide
• Do not rub, scratch, or pick at the skin
📅 Days 3–7
• Expect mild redness, tightness, and visible peeling
• Continue generous moisturizing + daily sunscreen
• Let skin flake naturally—never peel or pull
• If needed, use light, non-comedogenic makeup once redness settles
🚫 Avoid for 7–10 Days
• Waxing, threading, shaving (if irritated)
• Steam rooms, saunas, hot yoga
• Swimming pools or ocean water
• Physical scrubs, exfoliation brushes, or harsh tools
🌿 What’s Safe to Use
• Soothers: Aloe vera (pure), thermal water sprays, niacinamide ≤4%
• Lips & eyes: Apply gentle occlusive balm if treatment extends to those areas
🔁 Restarting Active Ingredients
• Superficial peel: Resume actives in 5–7 days (only if fully calm)
• Medium/deep peel: Wait 2–3 weeks or follow your clinician’s advice
⚠️ Seek Help If You Notice
• Severe pain, blistering, or pus
• Redness worsening after Day 3
• Fever or infection symptoms
• Early signs of pigmentation, especially on deeper skin tones
🌞 Preventing PIH (Dark Spots Post-Peel)
• Ultra-strict sun protection
• Once healed, consider azelaic acid or tranexamic acid (peel-depth dependent)
