The Commission on the Status of Women (CSW69) this time coincided with a milestone year for HomeNet South Asia. This year, we celebrate our 25th anniversary!
To mark this iconic milestone, we were proud to recreate our handcrafted tapestry – Diverse Yet United. This beautiful tapestry features the traditional craftsmanship of the countries we operate in. At the heart of it, a silhouette symbolises the woman home-based worker whose hands preserve artistic heritage while she herself remains invisible.
A gorgeous reflection of our mission, this tapestry was recreated as a present for the UN Secretary General. Following protocols, it was formally handed over to H.E. Mr. Lok Bahadur Thapa (Ambassador, the Permanent Mission of Nepal to the United Nations) to be passed on to the UN Secretary General.
