Nepal Mediciti being the medical partner of Kathmandu Gurkhas in the upcoming, highly anticipated Nepal Premier League (NPL), hosted a program for the team today. The players were welcomed by Dr. Raj Rana, the Medical Superintendent of Nepal Mediciti and also a joint replacement surgeon, followed by a very inspiring and motivating speech by our chairman - Dr. Upendra Mahato.
Dr. Shishir Lakhey, the principal consultant of Nepal Mediciti Bone & Joint Center briefly introduced on the medical services available for the players, should they get injured during the league. He highlighted the subspecialty orthopedic services available in Nepal Mediciti like - Sports and Arthroscopy Unit, Hand Unit, Foot & Ankle Unit, Spine Unit and General Orthopedic and Trauma unit. He also emphasised greatly on the presence of a huge team of Physiotherapists which includes 3 MPTs dedicated in Orthopedic and Sports physiotherapy.
Dr. Sanjay Karki, the Emergency head, shed light on the importance of having a medic on the ground and also the value of pre-hospital care.
The players and coaches were very happy and relieved to know about the services available for them.
We hope this will make them feel "Fearless and fierce", as their name suggests. We wish them good luck with their games !
