"Daily application of Anjananjanam is beneficial for the eyes, alleviates Kapha and Pitta doshas, clears impurities, and enhances vision."

✨ Importance of Anjananjanam in Dinacharya ✨
At Vedic Arogya Ashram, we emphasize incorporating ancient Ayurvedic practices into daily routines for holistic health. Anjananjanam, the application of medicated collyrium to the eyes, is a vital part of Ayurvedic Dinacharya.

🔸 Balancing Doshas: Anjananjanam helps balance Kapha and Pitta doshas in the eyes, preventing and alleviating conditions related to these imbalances.
🔸 Purifying and Strengthening Vision: By removing accumulated impurities and toxins (Ama) from the eyes, it purifies and strengthens the vision, promoting overall eye health.
🔸 Preventing Eye Disorders: Regular use of Anjananjanam can prevent various eye disorders and maintain optimal eye function.
🔸 Soothing and Rejuvenating: The cooling and soothing effects of Anjananjanam rejuvenate the eyes, especially beneficial for those experiencing strain from prolonged screen time.

🌿 Jihva Nirlekhanam: Tongue Scraping🌿

Daily cleansing of the tongue is essential for maintaining cleanliness, which removes toxins, enhances lightness, strength, and purity of the mouth.

✨ Importance of Jihva Nirlekhanam in Dinacharya ✨

In the ancient wisdom of Ayurveda, Jihva Nirlekhanam or tongue scraping is a vital part of the daily routine (Dinacharya). This practice is not just about oral hygiene; it's a holistic approach to maintaining overall health.

🔸 Balancing Doshas: Tongue scraping helps in removing Ama (toxins) from the oral cavity, thereby balancing the body's doshas—Vata, Pitta, and Kapha.
🔸 Enhancing Digestion: By clearing the tongue's surface of toxins, it enhances the Agni (digestive fire), which is crucial for optimal digestion and metabolism.
🔸 Promoting Clear Perception: A clean tongue allows for better taste perception, which is essential for stimulating the proper release of digestive enzymes.
🔸 Boosting Immunity: Regular practice strengthens the immune system by reducing the body's overall toxin load.

🌿✨ Ayurvedic Wisdom for Oral Health ✨🌿

📜 Shloka from Ashtanga Hridaya (Sutra Sthana 2.2-2.3):
🕉️ “प्रातः काले चॢक्चयादास्तर्पयेद्वज्रकुट्टनैः | ततश्च सन्तर्पयेद्दन्तांश्चूरणागार्धवक्रताः ||”

"In the morning, one should clean the teeth using herbs or twigs which are astringent, bitter, or pungent in taste, and that have a rough texture and are either straight or slightly curved."

In Ayurveda, Dantadhavanam (brushing teeth) is an essential part of Dinacharya (daily routine) to maintain oral health and overall well-being. This shloka from Ashtanga Hridaya provides detailed guidance on how to perform this practice.

1. Time of Practice (प्रातः काले):
- Morning Ritual: Brushing teeth early in the morning helps remove the accumulated toxins (Ama) and freshens the mouth for the day ahead.
2. Type of Cleaning Instrument (वज्रकुट्टनैः):
- Herbal Twigs: Use twigs from specific trees like neem, babool, or licorice, which have properties beneficial for oral health.
- Astringent, Bitter, Pungent Taste: These tastes help in reducing Kapha dosha (which increases overnight) and maintaining oral hygiene.
3. Texture and Shape (चूरणागार्धवक्रताः):
- Rough Texture: Twigs with a rough texture help in scrubbing the teeth effectively.
- Straight or Slightly Curved: This ensures that the twigs can reach all parts of the mouth for thorough cleaning.

Definition of Health According to Ayurveda

📜 Shloka from Sushruta Samhita:
🕉️ “समदोषः समाग्निश्च समधातु मलक्रियाः। प्रसन्नात्मेन्द्रियमनाः स्वस्थ इत्यभिधीयते॥”

"Health is when your doshas, digestive fire, tissues, and waste elimination are balanced, and your soul, senses, and mind are in a state of bliss."

Ayurvedic Health = Holistic Harmony
In Ayurveda, being healthy isn’t just about not being sick. It’s about having everything in balance – your body, mind, and spirit all in sync.
Here’s the breakdown:
1. Doshas (दोषाः): Keep Vata, Pitta, and Kapha in check.
2. Agni (अग्नि): Maintain a strong digestive fire.
3. Dhatus (धातवः): Nourish your body tissues.
4. Malas (मलाः): Eliminate waste properly.
5. Manas (मनस्): Cultivate a clear and calm mind.
6. Atma (आत्मा): Connect with your soul.

Ayurveda vs. Modern Health
• Ayurveda: Total harmony inside out – body, mind, and spirit.
• Modern Health: Mostly just about not being sick.

🌿✨ Daily Rituals for Optimal Health: The Ayurvedic Wisdom of Dincharya -Malotsarjanam ✨🌿

In Ayurveda, the regular elimination of waste (malotsarjanam) is crucial for maintaining health and balance. This practice helps in detoxifying the body, promoting digestion, and ensuring overall well-being. Here are two profound shlokas from classic Ayurvedic texts that emphasize the importance of this daily ritual:

📜 Ashtanga Hridaya (Sutra Sthana 2.4-5):

Benefits of Malotsarjanam:
Detoxification: Helps in the removal of toxins from the body, preventing accumulation and disease.
Digestion: Enhances digestive fire (Agni), ensuring better digestion and absorption of nutrients.
Mental Clarity: Promotes a sense of lightness and clarity, reducing mental fog and improving focus.
Balanced Doshas: Keeps the three doshas (Vata, Pitta, and Kapha) in balance, fostering overall harmony and health.
Energy Flow: Supports the free flow of energy (Prana) throughout the body, enhancing vitality and vigor.
Sadhana: It is important to have malotsarjanam to do our various sadhana including the yoga and meditation practices and other rituals in honoring the deities.

✨ Embrace these daily rituals to promote holistic health and harmony within your body. Ayurveda teaches us that proper elimination is key to feeling light, clean, and balanced. ✨

(Usha Paana) 🌅
Usha refers to Dawn, and Paana means Consuming. Usha Paana is the ancient Ayurvedic practice of consuming water first thing in the morning.

In Usha Paana, we typically store water in a copper vessel overnight and drink it in the morning as soon as we get up, without washing our face. This practice allows the saliva in our mouth to enter our stomach, providing numerous health benefits as mentioned by ancient sages in their texts.

📜 Ancient Wisdom:
"उषः पानं हितं वृष्यं जराकासश्वासनाशनम्।
ह्रद्ग्रहगलशोथघ्नं तृष्णामूर्च्छाविनाशनम्।।"

"Drinking water early in the morning is beneficial, promoting vitality and strength. It alleviates aging, cough, and asthma, cures ailments of the heart, throat swelling, and eliminates thirst and fainting."

✨ Benefits of Usha Paana:
1. Detoxification: Flushes out toxins from the body.
2. Hydration: Starts your day with proper hydration, boosting metabolism.
3. Digestive Health: Prepares the digestive system for the day ahead.
4. Mental Clarity: Enhances brain function and mental clarity.
5. Immunity Boost: Strengthens the immune system.

Combining the wisdom of Ayurveda with modern understanding, Usha Paana is a simple yet powerful habit to enhance your daily routine and overall well-being. 🌿💧

Start your day with Usha Paana and feel the ancient wisdom rejuvenate your modern life! ✨

‘Brahma Muhurta’ is the time of dawn that is around one and a half hours before sunrise. Ayurveda claims that it is the best time to wake up having several benefits:

☀️ Tuning our biological clock to the rising and setting of the sun helps to control the effects of ageing and delays the symptoms and health hazards that come along with it.

☀️ Brahma Muhurta is the best time to attain ‘Brahma Gyan’ - supreme knowledge and eternal happiness. When the atmosphere is soothing and the mind is fresh and calm, good thoughts and incredible ideas come to us naturally. It is also a great time for self-analysis and getting to know your inner self.

☀️ It’s the perfect time to destress and indulge in something that one really enjoys, be it gardening, practicing yoga, meditation, or simply going for a walk.

☀️ People who follow the Brahma Muhurta practice are found to be more productive. It keeps the body healthy and full of energy to last through the day.

Who knew simply waking up early could have so many benefits?! Adjusting to a new routine can be challenging at first, but stick with it and you will reap the benefits!
