Happy Maha Nawami!!
Maha Nawami marks the worship of Goddess Durga in her most powerful form. On this day, people honor Durga as the source of divine energy and protection, praying for strength, wisdom, and victory of good over evil.

In many traditions, tools, vehicles, and instruments are also worshipped today, symbolizing gratitude for what supports our life and livelihood.

From an Ayurvedic perspective, Nawami also reminds us to respect the balance of energy (Shakti) that sustains body, mind, and spirit.

May this day bring inner strength, peace, and wellbeing to all. 🙏❤🕉

The seventh day of Dashain carries deep cultural and spiritual meaning in Nepal. It is celebrated as Fulpati, which literally means flowers and leaves. In ancient tradition, a grand procession would bring sacred plants jamara (barley sprouts), banana stalk, sugarcane, pomegranate, and other auspicious leaves all the way from Gorkha to the royal palace in Kathmandu.

Each plant in the Fulpati set holds a symbolic blessing: jamara for growth and prosperity, banana for fertility, sugarcane for sweetness in life, pomegranate for health and abundance. Together, they represent harmony between humans and nature, reminding us to honor the natural world as the true source of wellbeing.

This same day is also known as Kālarātri, when Goddess Durga is worshipped in her fierce and protective form. She symbolizes the power that destroys darkness and negativity, safeguarding truth and righteousness. Her presence teaches us that real harmony in life comes not only from blessings of prosperity, but also from the courage to protect what is good.

Thus, Fulpati and Kālarātri together embody a beautiful balance , The gentle nurturing energy of nature and the fierce protective strength of the divine.

May this sacred day bring you health, peace, prosperity, and the inner strength to overcome challenges.

Happy Ghatasthapana!!
Today in Nepal, families celebrate Ghatasthapana, the first day of the grand festival of Dashain. On this day, a sacred vessel (Kalash) filled with holy soil is placed in prayer rooms, and Jamara (barley and maize seeds) are sown. 🌱 Over the next nine days, the Jamara grows tall and green, to be offered as blessings during Dashain.
This ritual is a unique experience as it reflects the deep connection between spirituality, agriculture, and daily life in Nepal. The use of seeds like barley, also cherished in Ayurveda for their strength giving and cleansing properties, shows how tradition and wellness go hand in hand here. 🌸
As Nepal welcomes Dashain, it’s not only a time of worship and family gatherings, but also a chance for travelers to witness one of the most vibrant cultural celebrations in the Himalayas. 🪔🌄
Moksha Ayurveda wishes you a blessed Ghatasthapana and invites you to experience Nepal’s living traditions with health, harmony, and joy. 💛
