Beaver tail liver aka sliver of liver, is a rare variant of liver morphology. It is characterized by elongated left lobe extending to surround the spleen.
More common in females.
More prone for injuries.

From my antenatal scans archive - Omphalocele with herniation of liver.
Omphaloceles have worse prognosis compared to gastrochisis.
Smaller herniation with bowel loops are more frequently associated with other anomalies.
Associated anomalies include chromosomal, CNS, cardiac, genitourinary and gastrointestinal anomalies, which confer a poor prognosis.
Syndromes that include omphalocoeles are Beckwith-Wiedemann syndrome, bladder exstrophy and pentalogy of Cantrell.
