When I saw this picture today, I will be honest, it felt different for a second. Why?
Because I am not used to the idea of men expressing their emotions so swiftly like they did.
Or wait!
We definitely are used to the idea of men expressing their emotions so strongly in public, the only difference is that the emotion has always been of anger.
Growing up, we have always believed that angry young man is what we must aim to be. A man should be angry, a man should be loud and a man should be pushy in order to be attractive. Anything else doesn't fit in the definition of masculinity, especially being soft, kind and compassionate forget about crying (in public).
And I am so glad Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal choose to express themselves openly today. They are the sportsmen who have been the best in their form while showing they can be vulnerable too.
These are the idols our men need today, who aren't scared of expressing their emotions in a wide vocabulary rather than a monotone.
