KarmaTreks and Adventures with Purpose - Nepal

KarmaTreks and Adventures with Purpose - Nepal KarmaTreks is a Nepal-based organization. We offer adventures with purpose. KarmaFlights is a Nepal-based, non-profit organization.

We believe strongly in each child’s immutable right, to a safe and secure learning environment. In a land famous for its towering peaks and tumultuous rivers, the bright young minds of Nepal are its greatest natural resource. Education, is the key to unlocking that vast potential and solving Nepal’s poverty problem. KarmaFlights was founded in 2011, by a small group of adventure athletes, together with visionary local school teacher, Prem Bahadur Kunwar. We initially came together, with the shared objective of providing a safe home, and educational support, for a group of eight at-risk children. From this, KarmaFlights activity has expanded today, to include large-scale emergency disaster relief; long-term kinship and merit scholarships; school, library and computer-lab construction; hydro, solar and road infrastructure support; water, hygiene, livestock, and child-nutrition programs; waste management; earthquake preparedness training; and medical, mental, and dental health camps. These initiatives have saved lives, reduced suffering and extended professional and personal development opportunities to thousands of children. Join us as a volunteer or donor today. Invest in purpose, not for profit.

Happy Haritalika Teej!

On this beautiful occasion of Haritalika Teej, the colorful festival of Nepali women, we extend our heartfelt greetings to all the mothers, sisters, daughters, and dear friends—both women and men around the globe.
Teej is a time when women, decorated in vibrant red saris, bangles and ornaments, come together in joy and devotion. Married women return to their maiti ghar (parental home), where they celebrate with music, dance, laughter, and heartfelt expressions of both happiness and struggle. Through these songs and gatherings, women share their experiences, joys, and sorrows openly.
Fasting on Teej is a tradition of deep love and devotion, as women observe it for the wellbeing and long life of their husbands and families. At the same time, Teej carries the spirit of togetherness, freedom, and sisterhood.
As the monsoon season comes to an end, the skies clear, and so do hearts—families reunite, friends gather, and communities strengthen their bonds. Teej reminds us not only of devotion and tradition but also of celebration, resilience, and shared humanity.

Wishing everyone a joyful, blessed, and colorful Teej!

Happy Father’s Day (बुबाको मुख हेर्ने दिन / Kushe Aunsi)

In Nepali culture, Father’s Day is lovingly known as “Bubako Mukh Herne Din” — a day to look upon the face of one’s father with respect, gratitude, and love. This day also coincides with Kushe Aunsi, when families honor their fathers, seek blessings, and remember those who are no longer with us.

Our ancient wisdom teaches us:

“पितृ देओ भव, मातृ देओ भव, गुरु देओ भव”
Father is like God, Mother is like God, Teacher is like God.

This timeless saying reminds us that parents and teachers are sacred figures who shape our lives with love, sacrifice, and guidance. A father is not only a parent but also a protector, a role model, and a teacher whose values remain with us forever.

On this special day, KarmaFlights Foundation extends heartfelt respect to all the great fathers and father figures of the world — for their strength, resilience, and unconditional love that nurture generations.

Happy Father’s Day to all fathers, father figures, and mentors who continue to guide us with wisdom and compassion.

🌸 Program Update | GESA & MHM Orientation

Karma Flights Foundation is currently conducting a week-long series of Gender Equality and Social Awareness (GESA) and Menstrual Hygiene Management (MHM) sessions at Bhaskar Memorial School, Phoolbhari, Pokhara.

Each day, each class from Grades 6–8, comprising 60–70 mixed-gender students, participates in three interactive sessions over six days. These activity-based learning sessions make discussions on gender equity, inclusivity, and menstrual health engaging, practical, and relatable.

Our dedicated GESA & MHM officers are working smartly with these bright young students—addressing sensitive issues with care while linking learning to the school curriculum.

We sincerely thank the school administration, teachers, and students for their active support, and extend our cordial thanks to NFORSDT Foundation for their valuable coordination with the school.

✨ Together, we are breaking taboos, building confidence, and shaping a healthier, more equitable generation.

Happy Shree Krishna Janmashtami

On this sacred day, we celebrate the divine birth of Lord Krishna, the eighth incarnation of Lord Vishnu—protector of the universe.

Lord Krishna’s teachings in the Bhagavad Gita remain timeless, guiding humanity towards:
✨ Dharma (Righteousness)
✨ Bhakti (Devotion)
✨ Sadachaar (Good deeds)
✨ Nyaya (Justice)

He inspires us to walk the path of love and compassion, to share selflessly, and to fulfill our duties with pure devotion—without attachment to the fruits of action, for the results will follow naturally.

The melodious notes of his flute, his love for Radha, and his life as the divine cowherd remind us of the beauty of simplicity, devotion, and eternal love.

May this Janmashtami bring peace, joy, and divine blessings into your life.

Happy Gaijatra 2082!!!!

Gaijatra, the “Festival of Cows,” is a beautiful blend of remembrance, joy, and unity.
On this day, families honor and remember loved ones who have passed away, believing that the holy cow will guide their souls to peace.

The tradition began in the time of King Pratap Malla to help his grieving queen smile again, showing that life’s sorrows are shared by all — and laughter is the best healer. Since then, Gaijatra has grown into a colorful festival filled with music, dance, satire, and laughter.

It’s also a time to speak the truth, humorously point out social issues, and celebrate together as a community — free from grudges.

May this Gaijatra bring smiles to our hearts, peace to the departed souls, and harmony to our society.

Wishing You All a Blessed Janai Purnima and Rakshya Bandhan!

Today is a sacred day of purity, protection, and love.

Janai Purnima is a day when those who have undergone Bratabandha change their sacred thread (Janai) and renew their spiritual commitment. The thread symbolizes truth, knowledge, and responsibility.

Rakshya Bandhan is a celebration of the unbreakable bond between siblings. Sisters tie a sacred thread (Rakhi) on their brothers’ wrists, praying for their well-being, while brothers promise to protect their sisters with love and care.

This day is not just about rituals—it's about faith, family, and gratitude. Let us celebrate the values that unite us and carry the spirit of harmony and protection in our hearts.
🙏 Stay blessed and safe!
