Our Story
≈ About Devika ≈
Devika has been teaching yoga since 1995. She was trained in Nepal and India. Devika also has degrees in Hatha yoga therapy, health food management, Ayurvedic massage and Reiki. In 2000 she started her own yoga centre in Pokhara.
In 2003 Devika fell chronically ill although she kept up her daily asana practice. She consulted all kinds of medicine: western, ayurveda, Tibetan, chiropractors, etc… but none could cure her. It was only in 2008, due to the rising of kundalini in her body that she started to heal. During this experience she could observe the energies working inside her body. She started understanding how blockages are created and how they can be resolved with yogic postures and movements. Devika shares these unique techniques that come to her through revelations in her classes.
Every year, during off-season in Nepal, Devika goes abroad. She leads retreats and teaches workshops in the UK and Europe.
Devika also manages the Nepali Yoga Women Trust. A percentage of the fees is donated to this organization that helps marginalized women by teaching them holistic therapies, handicraft skills and self healing techniques.
