Though there have been qualitative and quantitative increment in general health services to the public, such cannot be claimed of mental health services in the country. Despite the almost equal distribution of mental disorders
throughout the globe, our part of the world lacks the needed services to tackle the mental health related problems that can as well be controlled. Ignorance about the mental disorders comparable among the elites and the general population has lead to stigma and isolation of those in needs and those tackling them. Someone has to take the challenge for both the perspective. Ltd (BGHRC) is established with the main goal of creating a milestone at providing mental health services and it stands alone as a pioneer institute for the same in the whole Western Nepal. Services:
BG Hospital is dedicated to the care of the patients with mental disorders. It has tried the best to incorporate the inevitable services. Be it; outpatient and inpatient services, isolation room for provocative and aggressive patients, safe restraining procedure, high care unit for detoxification and withdrawal management etc. The care of patients’ parties is given utmost importance. A separate waiting room has been designed to prevent them from exhaustion of patient care. Visitor card will be provided to maximum of two visitors per patient. Services for inpatients with expert yoga teacher, various other recreational facilities like television, carom board, ludo, chess, bagh chaal, painting, stitching, carpentry etc are available in the premises of BG hospital. Keeping in mind the quick encroaching process of disintegration of family structure due to rapid modernization, BG hospital has started to provide a noble service to elderly population. BG hospital provides both; a day care centre and in–house stay to elderly in a homely setting with routine needful health services. Multi-disciplinary teams of mental health professionals work together to provide a comprehensive range of services to young people, adults and older people with mental illness. At BGH the most important people are our patients, their families, loved ones and carers. We want their time with us to be as positive and comfortable as possible. Our vision is to ensure that every patient receives the right treatment at the right time in a safe environment. When collecting, using and disclosing any information about our patients we comply with all relevant privacy and confidentiality morals. Rehabilitation is individualized and patient-centered; using a team approach to optimize patients' function and quality of life, providing continuum of care from acute treatment to social integration to the community. Visiting Hours and Visitors
Visitors are always welcome at BGH as they play an important part in the recovery and comfort of patients. We think it is very important that families are involved in care of our patients. Patients can recover faster and they can have reduced anxiety and stress. Good communication between patients, families and staff is very important. Visiting hours:
7 am to 9 am
12 am – 2 pm
5 pm- 7 pm
- Maximum of 2 people per bed
To stop the wards from getting overcrowded and too noisy, maximum of two visitors are allowed at the bedside during the general visiting hours. Designated Visitors
When patients are admitted to hospital, they will be asked to choose two people who may play a key role in their care. Designated visitors are welcome to stay during protected mealtimes to help with meals if patients would like them to do so. This is especially important for our older patients or those who have trouble eating. Designated visitors should ask for visitor cards if they have arranged with the nurse in charge to stay outside general visiting hours. Special Services at BG Hospital
