Recently we held a Falls Prevention Workshop in collaboration with Asian Family Services at the Watyarnprateep Buddhist Temple in Kelston. This was the first time we had been invited to a temple to share our community outreach work and it was an honour to have this opportunity to talk to and engage with the Thai senior community members. One attendee commented that she found the strength & balance exercises 'very useful and can practice at home'.

We recently held our second Provider Networking Lunch of the year at Pupuke Golf Club, North Shore.
We were excited to host our speaker Dr Pooja Maddela who is a registered naturopathy doctor, researcher, educator, international speaker, and senior master yoga teacher.
She discussed the physiology of the brain and how it can work during balance and included some practical tips for training older adults.
We received fantastic feedback on Dr Pooja's talk and the lunch overall.

These events are a great way to bring a network of exercise providers together and show our appreciation for the hard work they do for older adults in their communities.

Last week, we hosted a Falls Prevention workshop alongside Asian Family Services at the Takapuna Methodist Church for Korean Seniors who were keen to learn more about prevention, how to get up after a fall and S&B exercises. The very practical workshop was very well received and we were treated to a traditional Korean lunch afterwards. We hope to do a number of these collaborative events over the next year.
