With the colder weather we have been experiencing quite the influx of patients, a majority beingbraptors like hawks, falcon and owls. At this time of year alot of the hawks recieved have been suffering heavy metal toxicity, vehicle strikes or emaciation.
These birds can be severely unwell showing symptoms such as paralysis, weakness and inability to fly. If you do come across a bird in neednof help please call ASAP, the sooner they get to the rescue the higher the chances of survival, under no circumstances are these birds to be given water by mouth or food, this can lead to aspiration and digestive issues
