Please note that our Urgent Care Centre is open from 8am to 6pm every day except Christmas Day. From the 24th December 2025 to 4th January 2026 all services will be delivered from Level 1 (upstairs). You are welcome to use the staircase or the lift.

📌 Open 8am to 6pm, 7 days a week (excluding Christmas Day)
📌 Walk in, no appointment necessary
📌 Visitors and patients from other practices are welcome
📌 Children aged 13 and under are FREE

If you require a repeat prescription during this timeframe, please call reception on 440 0295 or request it via the MMH patient portal.

HealthCentral is looking for furnished accommodation for a GP starting with us in 2026.

Ideally it needs to be available from late January 2026 to mid October 2026 although there is some flexibility with the dates.

🦠 As reported yesterday (29 September), there is one confirmed measles case in the Queenstown area. There is no known link between the Queenstown case and the Northland cases.

🦠 Two new measles cases have been confirmed in Northland today. Both of these cases have been in quarantine while infectious. There have now been six cases of measles in the region in total.

👉 There are a number of new locations of interest, primarily in Queenstown and Cromwell, but also in Northland, following ongoing contact tracing efforts.

📞 Call Healthline on 0800 611 116 urgently if you haven’t been contacted by public health already, and stay home until you’ve received advice.

🏠 If you have any measles symptoms also stay home and seek health advice. Call your usual healthcare or Hauora provider or ring Healthline. Measles symptoms: high fever, cough, runny nose, sore red eyes, followed by a rash.

😷 If you need to visit a health care facility call first and tell the healthcare professional that you have been to a Location of Interest. If you need an in-person appointment, wear a well-fitting mask to protect others.

Today marks one year since HealthCentral moved into our purpose-built building!

What a year it’s been. As we mark this milestone, we want to take a moment to first recognise our dedicated team who consistently go above and beyond to care for our patients.

Our purpose-built facility has been a game changer — not only for our staff and patients but for the wider Central Otago region. Winning Gold at the New Zealand Commercial Projects Awards and being described as complex, beautiful, and functional is a testament to the thoughtful design and its importance to the community.

But this year has been about much more than just working from a new space. We’re proud of the progress we’ve made, including the successful integration of physiotherapy into our general practice and the launch of our walk-in Urgent Care Centre — a vital service that has been incredibly well received by the community.

We are genuinely grateful to our patients and the wider community for your continued support. Thank you for being part of our journey.

Yesterday, Jenaya Smith (General Manger) and Kate Dixon (Clinical Director) had the privilege meeting with Health Minister Simeon Brown together with local MP Joseph Mooney at Queenstown Medical Centre.

This was a timely opportunity for us to promote our walk in, 7 day a week Urgent Care service and highlight other initiatives HealthCentral have introduced to improve access to services in Central Otago.

Our patients and indeed the wider community can feel assured we are “at the table” advocating on your behalf.

It was a very positive meeting and also a great forum to network with key members of Health NZ and Queenstown Medical Centre.

Congratulations to Breen Construction who were awarded a Gold Medal for the new "HealthCentral" building in the NZ Commercial Project Awards. They were fantastic partners and our team feel very fortunate to be working from such a beautiful, well designed space 🏅

Please note Awanui Labs will be CLOSED due to Public Holidays and Strike Action from Friday 18th April. Normal services will resume on Monday 28th April.

As a result, no routine or non urgent bloods are able to be taken by our practice or processed at the lab during this period.
