Here are our practice hours over the Christmas and New Year break. If you need urgent care during a time our centre is closed, please phone 03 314 8504 to be connected with our after-hours provider Ka Ora. This service is available on weekends and public holidays, as well as overnight.

If you’re looking for something to do over the Christmas break, Christchurch Women’s Maternity Services are in need of some knitting for full term babies 🧶 check out their post for more details 💚

📢 Maternity Services at Christchurch Women’s Hospital is calling for donations of knitted hats, singlets, cardigans and blankets for full-term babies 🧶
👶 We need wool singlets, hats and cardigans that will fit babies weighing between 2.5kg and 4.5 kg (5lb-10lb).
❗ We are unable to accept any knitting in acrylic because this material does not support the babies to maintain their body temperature.
🙏 We are so grateful to the community for providing this valuable resource to the whānau of Canterbury, many of whom are caught unaware of how many layers their baby may need to keep warm or be caught out with a baby that has difficulty maintaining their temperature.
👉 Donations can be sent or dropped off to:
Christchurch Women’s Maternity Ward, Level 5, Christchurch Women’s Hospital. Please include your name and contact details if you wish.

🛑 Measles Outbreak Alert – October 2025
Measles is spreading in NZ. It’s highly contagious and can cause serious illness.
If you have symptoms, don’t visit your GP or ED—call 03 314 8504 or Healthline 0800 611 116.

Symptoms include:
🤧 Dry cough, runny nose, headache
🌡️ Fever over 38.5°C
🌺 Rash starting on face, spreading to chest/arms

Are you vaccinated?
✅ Born before 1969 = likely immune
💉 Born after 1969 = check for 2 MMR doses
👶 Children need MMR at 12 & 15 months
✈️ Travelling with infants? Early vaccination may be possible
