Sue Prowse has overseen many changes during her time as manager of Rosebank Lifecare, but nothing quite like this.

The fences are down on Walnut Avenue, and the long-anticipated addition to the beloved care facility is ready to shine.

Change is a constant at Rosebank, and manager Sue Prowse knows this better than anyone. After years of careful planning and construction, the fences on Walnut Avenue are down, unveiling the facility’s most significant development yet—a new wing designed to meet the evolving needs of the community.

“We are very excited to be able to deliver another option of care at our facility,” Prowse said.

The newly built wing includes 22 suites, offering a mix of studio and one-bedroom layouts. The innovative design combines features of both the Care Facility and the Retirement Village, providing flexibility for residents.

People can purchase a suite and pay a weekly fee covering essentials such as meals, laundry, cleaning, property maintenance, and utilities, including power. For those requiring more assistance, personal care services, ranging from medication management to full-time hospital-level care, are available.

“We adapt the care services provided to meet people’s changing needs,” Prowse said.

Rosebank has been a part of the community for over 30 years, starting with its Care Facility, which offers permanent residential care, convalescence services, and respite care. Fifteen years ago, it expanded to include the Retirement Village, introducing independent villas and later, serviced apartments.

This new addition blends the best of both worlds, offering a secure environment with the option of tailored care as residents’ needs change.

Prowse emphasized that while the facility continues to evolve, its core philosophy remains the same. “Our goal is to ensure a secure, supported, and peaceful environment in your retirement years,” she said.

The construction has taken most of the past year, and its completion marks an important milestone for Rosebank under Prowse’s leadership.

“We’ve changed and adapted to ensure we’re still here in the future,” Prowse said, reflecting on Rosebank’s enduring commitment to the community.

With this new wing, Rosebank is ready to welcome the next chapter, providing more options and ensuring care remains at the heart of everything they do.

We have had a busy time celebrating Mid-Winter with a special dinner then an afternoon of karaoke with Michael and Cheryl. Lots of toe tapping, singing and clapping

We also enjoyed armchair travel to Australia with visitors from Terrace View. We had a fair dinkum Aussie BBQ for lunch, played the koala toss game and sung some Aussie songs then ended with an Australian quiz
