That first snip - A a moment many partners never forget. Cutting the umbilical cord is more than symbolic, it’s a powerful way to be part of those first few seconds of life.

Did you know that waiting until your baby’s cord has stop pulsating (approx 3-30mins) will increase haemoglobin & iron levels, along with benefits to fine motor skills later in childhood?

Baby Blues or something more?

It’s completely normal to feel emotional, tearful or overwhelmed after birth - those hormone shifts are intense!

If those feelings stick around or start to grow, it could be more than Baby Blues.

Postnatal depression can happen to any parent, at any time in the first year. It doesn’t make you a bad parent - and it’s not your fault. With the right support, you will feel better.

✨ Talk to your midwife, GP or a trusted friend.
✨ You can also visit mothersmatter.co.nz, pada.nz, or depression.org.nz for support.

You don’t have to do this alone 💛

Now that you're home, it's time to get to know each other.

Some parents feel that deep bond straight away. For others, it takes time and that’s completely normal.

Love can grow slowly, moment by moment, as you learn who your baby is and what they need.

Your baby has only ever known you. But for you, they’re a brand new person joining a life that’s already in motion.

Be gentle with yourself as you find your rhythm together 💕
