Health Improvement Practitioner (HIP)
Pegasus Health - Te Temu Waiora - are helping us find a HIP. This is a permanent part time position (20 hours per week).
❓️What is a Health Improvement Practitioner?
A HIP plays a very important and valuable role in primary health.
A HIP can help patients navigate their wellbeing. There is no charge to see a HIP. They can help with any issue that causes you stress, or affects your emotional wellbeing, by putting strategies in place to meet your individual health and wellness goals .
A HIP is part of a general practice team and holds a registration under one of the following: Health Practitioners Competency Assurance Act (HPCA), dapaanz, Social Work Registration Authority (SWRB) and New Zealand Association of Counsellors (NZAC) who has completed the Te Whatu Ora accreditation to work in the health sector.
In addition, people who are employed as a HIP must hold a current annual practicing certificate, preferably have worked in mental health and addiction, and have training in providing talking therapies.
