Early prevention is important! Flu vaccines are recommended yearly 💉

Who is eligible for a free flu vaccine?
🤰 Pregnant
👵 People aged 65 and over
🧒 Children under 4 with a history of a respiratory illness
🙋‍♀️ People aged 6 months to under 65 with eligible health conditions
🩺 People with serious mental health and addiction conditions

🟢 If you are not eligible for a free flu vaccine, the cost is $35
🟡 Free covid additional doses can be given at the same time as long as it is 6 months since your last vaccine or covid infection

Help us welcome our new nurse, Amy!
Amy is a very experienced Registered Nurse, coming to us from Christchurch Hospital.
We are looking forward to meeting her cute Golden Cocker Spaniel Toby, who loves to paddleboard, go boating, fishing and for runs and walks with Amy! 🐕

Kia ora to our new GP, Dr Alireza Hamidi!

Dr Hamidi was born in Iran and has lived in England and Canada, and more recently has been living and working as a GP in a rural setting above the Polar Circle in Sweden.

He is sports mad and thoroughly enjoys hiking and skiing. I'm sure we all agree he's going to thrive in Mid Canterbury!

Nostrils feeling like they have on and off switches? We’ve been there! There are things you can do to help minimise some common allergic reactions:

🧹 regular cleaning and improved ventilation at home

🌻 avoid certain plants and limit time outdoors when pollen is high

🐶 keep pets outside if possible

🫧 avoid strong soaps, perfumes, and chemicals

🦟 wear shoes, long pants and shirts, and use insect repellent to avoid bites.

If you’re at risk of anaphylaxis, always carry an EpiPen and wear a medical bracelet or necklace that tells others what you’re allergic to.
