“Every word we speak, and every feeling we have, is a voice within us trying to tell us something. Understanding how to listen to these messages of communication within our body-mind brings understanding to ourselves. The brain reasons…it cannot feel. It is the body, with its senses and physical tissue, that feels… with a mind of its own.” Hermann Müller

Our body is always communicating with us.
A tight chest, a fluttering stomach, a lump in the throat - these are messages, not random sensations. They are the body’s language, offering insight the thinking brain cannot always access.

When we learn to listen without judgement, we step into a deeper relationship with ourselves. This is where true healing begins - by honouring both the reasoning brain and the sensing body, allowing each to guide us in its own way.

At NEKAWA, much of the work is in helping people reconnect with this inner dialogue - so the body’s wisdom is not drowned out by the mind’s constant reasoning.

It’s Okay to Have “Meh” Days

Yesterday was one of those days.
A friend texted, How are you?
I replied, Well… I’ve already had a cry, I’m doing a jigsaw in my PJs, I’ve snoozed my phone time limit, and I’m just… here.

After checking I was genuinely okay, they said:
“You’d tell me it’s fine to have days like this, as long as it’s not all the time, right?”

I laughed.
Yes. Exactly.
Because I’m human too.

Our nervous systems need variety, and sometimes that means slowing right down, having a cry, and doing a puzzle in your pyjamas.

Not every day needs to be a growth day. Some days are simply being days.

Once I got over my “Meh” yesterday (which ironically happened shortly after my friend reminded me these kind of days were permitted), I found out many clients, colleagues and friends were also having a similar day. So yesterday was officially a “Meh” Day - how was your’s?

Healing doesn’t always roar … sometimes it sings.

In my latest NEKAWA blog, I reflect on how rewiring my brain, regulating my nervous system and following my inner knowing helped me shift from survival to self-alignment.

And yes… somewhere along the way, K-Pop crept in.
Now, instead of sad ballads, I catch myself belting out the lyrics to “Golden”:

“No more hiding | Now I’m shining | Like I was born to be”

A simple moment - a loud, off-key one - that reminds me how far I’ve come.

Healing is real. And sometimes, it sings.
