Trainee Liferaft Servicing Technician
Based in East Tamaki, Denray Marine is a leader in Marine safety, servicing and installing inflatable Liferafts, Lifejackets and a range of safety equipment for the commercial and recreational marine sector.

We pride ourselves on technical excellence and invest heavily in our staff training.

We are looking for a trainee to learn the skills required to become a certified Liferaft Service Technician. We would provide full training both locally and overseas.

Some of the attributes we will be looking for are -

Confidence using hand tools, test equipment, and support equipment.

Attention to detail, able to read and interpret technical instructions, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals

In collaboration with Lowry Bay Yacht Club, we'd like to invite anyone who happens to be in Wellington May 11th to attend and view a 6 person liferaft being deployed. Along with an opportunity to view the contents of our emergency packs, and discuss survival skills while out at sea!

We are seeking an experienced Instructor.

This position offers:

Your role will include Instructing delegates in Marine Safety courses to international standards.

Key responsibilities are:

Facilitating courses and caring for our delegates in a safe and professional manner.
Maintain our training quality.
Managing training resources including the maintenance of our equipment and facility.

Skills required:

Experience in a training environment.
Have achieved, at a minimum, a National Certificate in Adult Education, level 4.
Have the ability to work and maintain training simulation equipment.
Have a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and Power Point.
You must be able to peer assess and moderate.
Be a team player, with the ability to communicate clearly.
Be self motivated and able to work with minimum supervision.
And be willing to learn new subjects and skills.

Further aspects required for this role are:

Be willing to undertake pre-employment testing and screening.

Applicants for this position should have NZ residency or a valid NZ work visa.

Denray Marine have a new opening in the training division for a Training Assistant.
The position would require a hardworking, enthusiastic person who is eager to learn new skills in training people from the Offshore Oil & Gas Industry and other helicopter related industries in safety and emergency response.
This would be the start of an exciting career in adult education and emergency response training.
The successful candidate would need to be of a good level of fitness, be a capable swimmer, have adequate literacy skills, a basic knowledge of Excel and Word and hold a current drivers licence.
You will require practical skills, as you will learn to maintain training equipment and through periods of high demand, there is a requirement to assist our service department with servicing of life saving appliances and PPE.

Key Responsibility

Assist with the delivery of safety training courses, including;
­* Practical training activities, scenarios and simulations
­* Operation of training equipment
­* Assessment of delegate competence
­* Maintain the safety of delegates at all times

Assist with course logistics;
­* Ensure all course resources and equipment are prepared for each course
­* Keep record database up to date
­* Liaise with Trainers to co-ordinate smooth delivery of the course

Training centre and training equipment maintenance and upkeep
­* Anticipate and plan for equipment maintenance requirements
­* Assist with maintenance, decommissioning & repairs to all training equipment

Liaison and communication with Denray Marine Senior Trainers.
­* Maintain regular communication
­* Work within the Denray Marine Administration Procedures

Applicants for this position should have NZ residency or a valid NZ work visa.
