Maintaining a good standing posture is highly beneficial in many ways π
β Prevents the use of unnecessary muscles
β Prevents neck/back pain and headaches
β Less stress to our ligaments/joints
β Boosts our confidence levels!
So.. HOW should we be STANDING β
β Feet shoulder width apart
β Avoid locking your knees
β Slightly tighten your core muscles so your pelvis doesn't shift forward
β Shoulders back, chest forward
β Arms hanging naturally by the sides
β Keep your head directly above your body
β Light chin tuck
The first 4 examples on the image are regarded as POOR posture. We want to try and keep our posture as close as possible to the one on the very right.
The straight line down on the last example depicts a rough guide of the body landmarks that should be in line for an IDEAL STANDING posture.
**Try lining these parts of your body**
β Ear
β Center of shoulder
β Hip
β Knee
β Ankle
Stand TALL and STRONG !! πͺ
