Breast Changes? Don’t wait. Get Checked, fast.

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month – a timely reminder to do regular self-checks, as early detection is vital. If you’ve noticed something unusual – like a lump, swelling, or skin changes – and can’t get a same-day appointment at your usual clinic, we’re here to help.

You can speak to one of our online doctors, and if you’ve taken photos beforehand, that can really help. They’ll assess your symptoms, provide support, and recommend in-person follow up if needed.

We encourage everyone to know what their breasts normally look and feel like, and to understand what common changes to watch out for. Breast Cancer NZ recommends checking your breasts once every year.

If you have any concerns or want to learn more about breast health, don't hesitate to book an appointment with us. We’re here to support you every step of the way.

Our medical center offers whooping cough (pertussis) vaccinations to protect you and your loved ones from this highly contagious respiratory infection. The vaccine is recommended for pregnant women, caregivers, and anyone in close contact with young infants. Contact us today to schedule your vaccination or to learn more about its benefits.

A Whooping Cough epidemic has been declared across New Zealand. It's important to be aware of the risks, particularly for babies, children, and older adults.

Around 50% of pēpi who catch whooping cough before the age of 12 months need hospitalisation and 1 or 2 in 100 of those hospitalised pēpi die from the infection. More information on this can be found at Te Whatu Ora: https://buff.ly/4fKiBec

The best protection against Whooping Cough is immunisation, though immunity can reduce over time, meaning regular top-ups may be necessary.

If you're pregnant or planning to spend time with babies (0-5 months) or older adults over the holiday period, now is a good time to check if you're up to date with your vaccinations.

The Doctors Medical Centres offer whooping cough vaccinations, and some groups may be eligible for funding. Find your nearest medical centre here: https://buff.ly/43apyPY
