This weeks agenda: ADHD
Some of these might surprise you.....
1️⃣ ADHD shows up differently for everyone. No two people experience it in the same way.
2️⃣ People with ADHD do focus, sometimes too much on the things they love (hyper-focus). The real challenge is maintaining focus when it matters most especially when everything feels overwhelming.
3️⃣ It is not just a childhood thing! Many adults have ADHD too often without even realising it.
4️⃣ Medication is not a “one size fits all“ fix. While medication can make a big difference, some people benefit from medication alongside therapy or lifestyle changes.
5️⃣ Not everyone with ADHD is full of energy. Many can be more inattentive than hyperactive.
6️⃣ ADHD rarely comes alone, anxiety and low mood often tag along.
7️⃣ Sleep issues are very common. People with ADHD are 2–3 times more likely to struggle with sleep.
8️⃣ Memory can be tricky. Especially short-term and working memory making organisation a daily challenge (It is not just because they "dont want to do it!")
9️⃣ Stress makes symptoms worse. Managing stress is a major part of managing ADHD.
🔟 More males get diagnosed, but that is not the full story! This does not mean less females have it, they are often overlooked or misdiagnosed.
