ConTact CARE Auckland

ConTact CARE Auckland ConTact CARE offers a gentle, hands-on approach for effectively relieving pain and discomfort in both people and animals.

Experience natural relief with Stephanie Gaia, based in West Auckland. I'm Stephanie, a ConTact C.A.R.E Practitioner based in West Auckland. My passion lies in relieving pain, aches, and supporting the recovery of both body and mind through the ConTact CARE approach. Using gentle, natural bodywork inspired by the observation of horses in the natural world, I facilitate the release of trapped body shock and facilitate the unwinding process until a complete resolution is possible. If you would like to feel better, move better and optimise your health, let's connect! 🌿✨

✨ Another reminder of why I do what I do. Grateful for this feedback!

Often, a couple of ConTact C.A.R.E sessions can create long-lasting shift by locating and releasing trapped shock from an old injury that is still causing chaos within the body's skeletal system (aka "the body's scaffold"). By releasing the "glitch" at the structural level, there is an immediate involuntary relaxation of the connective tissues (muscles, tendons, ligaments) followed by a short period of self-organisation before the body settles into a new state of being. The nervous system picks up these changes too. The new state of being & feeling is characterised by having less pain, more freedom and a sense of ligthness and ease in body & mind...

Please share with anyone who may benefit. This work changes lives. It changed mine, and that's why I am committed to sharing ConTact CARE with deep passion and conviction 💛

August wrapped up with mud, rain, hail, and wind — and I was right there in it with the horses and my classmates! 🐎🌧️ We closed out winter with a three-day equine ConTact C.A.R.E training, diving deep into:
✨ Horse & rider performance
✨ Rider rebalancing in the saddle
✨ Resolution of horse & rider injury
✨ A workshop on concussion release

A powerful way to finish the season and step into spring with new skills and insights. 🌱
I’m now available for both equine and human sessions — feel free to reach out if you’d like to book.💫

✨ Yesterday something pretty spectacular and unexpected happened in my clinic ✨

A new client came to see me for chronic lower back pain — the kind that started 10 years ago after a big accident in the ocean. He had flipped, spun, and hit the water flat, and ever since then, his back never fully felt right.

During the session I found the injury pattern that was still holding pressure in his system and released it. I noticed a large scar on his forearm while releasing skeletal pressure around his elbow and parked that observation

Out of nowhere, he mentioned getting goosebumps. I quickly checked the air con — it was a warm 20 degrees, so not that! His face showed pure surprise. Then came the moment…

As he stood up, he said: “I can feel my hand.”
Seconds later, this turned into a series of “WTF? How? What just happened?!”

It turns out that four years ago he had almost lost his forearm in a major injury. After extensive surgery, all the tissues had been damaged, leaving him with permanent numbness. His “normal” for years had been no sensation in that arm and there was no hope for this to change.

But in that moment, sensations returned. He could feel goosebumps on his forearm and one by one he extended his fingers and he experienced feelings again. Something he’d been told would never be possible.

I asked him about his lower back when he stood up and his words straight away were: “my back feels like there’s no more pressure in there.”

I called in two ConTact C.A.R.E students who were practicing in the next room — because the disbelief was so huge, we needed four of us in that clinic room to truly believe what we were seeing and also to help his mind catch up with his body's regained ability.

💫 I believe in miracles — and they happen often within these four walls.

What an amazing weekend ✨
Our last ConTact C.A.R.E Foundation training brought together 18 students from NZ & France — a beautiful mix of beginners and returning faces.

We shared knowledge, personal stories, hands-on practice, martial arts principles, teachings from Grand Master Leo Fong, moments of connection, lightbulb moments… and so much more.

ConTact C.A.R.E is bone-deep healing at its essence. Working with the sacredness of the bones and touching the imprints of trauma is only possible in a safe and supportive environment where trust and surrender are present. This weekend, we witnessed incredible & powerful transformations.

A big heartfelt thank you to Simon Wright (Auckland City Contact Care) for leading us with such skill, and to Nadiene, Sharleen, and Dan for holding space and coaching with so much care and support.

And… I’m beyond excited that two of our students will be taking ConTact C.A.R.E all the way to France this year! 🌍

It’s such a privilege to be part of growing and sharing this work far and wide.

📅 The next Auckland Foundation training is on 18–19 October 2025, and enrolments are now open.
We already have a cohort of French-speaking students, so the course will also be accessible to my fellow French speakers.

Letztes Jahr habe ich mit Scott Sternthal über kompremierte Knochen telefoniert, und nun erwähnt er mich im Vorwort seines neuen Buchs.
Man kann es nun vorbestellen.
Ich bin gespannt. 🤗

ConTact C.A.R.E is not an intervention — it’s more like a respectful, wordless conversation with the skeleton.

I listen with my hands.

No forcing, no fixing. Just following the body’s own quiet language.

Each session is a chance to meet those unspoken stories held deep in the bones — and gently support the body to release what no longer needs to be carried. Slowly, and respectfully.

Stillness. Movement. Relief. It’s all in there. 🌀✨
