So good that women are doing strength training as it helps build bone density as well as muscle mass, but it is important to slowly work your way into it.

With an exercise trend towards weight training, especially for women, shoulders and lower backs are proving vulnerable.

I have some exciting news... after 11 years of
combining work at Active+ along with my own
clinic I have decided it is time for a change,
From 23 June I will be working solely at my clinic, reVlVe physiotherapy. I thank Active+ for the years there where I have honed my teaching, mentoring, management and clinical skills, but I am really looking forward to now focusing on reVIVe physiotherapy. The really good news is that I will therefore have increased capacity for appointments. No more waiting 3 weeks to be seen! Yay!!

I've just spent the last two days at a great sports medicine conference all about the upper limb. Some great speakers from New Zealand and Australia presented. It's always so inspiring to spend time with colleagues who are doing great things.

Big news! After two years of hard work getting a portfolio prepared I have been given the title of Advanced Practice Physiotherapist by the NZ Physio Board. I'm the first person in NZ to be given this title from the Board. Im pretty chuffed! Thank you so much to the physios, doctors, clients, colleagues and mentors who have helped me along the way. Now, what to do with my new found spare time?? 😁
