Preparation is key. 🔑
When you understand anatomy, physiology and the energetics of movement it can make your sequencing more potent and offer students the opportunity to feel more adequately prepared for what lies ahead.
This involves improving proprioception through techniques like:-
💆♀️Myofascial Release
🧠Somatics
💫Regressions
🙌Using both active and passive range of motion exercises.
💪 Eccentric and isometric work to increase motor unit recruitment and cortical involvement.
🫶Nerve flossing to help the nerves slide and glide a little better and reduce tension around the nerve improving range of motion.
🌪️Rotational movement and even flexion is helpful for improving movement through the facet joints in the thoracic spine.
Here a a few of my favourite ways to prep for back bends like dancers pose or full dancer - Natarajasana.
Join me this week either on the livestream Mon, Wed, Fri 6.30am (link in bio).
Or in person Monday and Tuesday and Friday.
