Safe Sleep Week is coming up and as a community, we're joining together with a shared vision: Making sure every baby has the safest start possible.

Safe Sleep isn't just a guideline, it's a collective responsibility, it's about awareness, prevention, and empowering our families and communities with the knowledge and support they need to keep our babies safe.

Our theme for 2026 is Safe Sleep begins with supported communities, highlighting the role collective knowledge and support networks can play to keep babies safe. Throughout the week, we’ll be sharing practical tips, local stories, foundations for safe sleep, and resources that support families to create safe sleep environments at home and wherever baby sleeps. Making every sleep a safe sleep.

Together we can build a culture where Safe Sleep is normal, supported and championed in every home, in every community.
There is lots more to come for Safe Sleep Week during 1 June - 5 June. To stay updated on future events and giveaways, please make sure to follow us on:

We were out and about in the weekend with Sathya Sai Preschool-Rongomai at their amazing Family fun day.
Our kaupapa of the day was focused on pop up Health checks and Safe sleep for kids sharing the 4 key messages from Hapai Te Hauora - Maori Public Health about keeping our newborn babies safe during sleep.

Colouring competition table was a buzz and early entries from the Sathya sai Preschool and primary school.

Thank you to the organisers and volunteers and of course the families and children that took part in the day.
