Pigmentation is one of the most misunderstood skin concerns we treat.
Not all dark spots are the same, and not all treatments work the same way. Melasma, post inflammatory hyperpigmentation, and sun damage each behave differently at a cellular level, which means they require different strategies.
One of the biggest mistakes we see is over treating. Stronger does not always mean better. Aggressive products can increase inflammation, and inflammation can stimulate more melanin production.
Consistency, barrier support, and daily sunscreen are non negotiable when managing pigmentation. UV exposure stimulates melanin, even on cloudy days, which is why protection is just as important as correction.
Pigmentation can be improved with the right plan, but it requires patience and the right combination of in clinic treatment and home care.
If you are unsure what type of pigmentation you have, start with a professional assessment before layering products.
Save this for later, and share it with someone who needs to see it.
