Think boutique accommodation rather resort or retreat complex. We have a range of self-contained luxury accommodation for your group with spa/swimming-pool, private lounge, dining, kitchen, bedrooms with luxury linen and toiletries. Think delicious, gut-loving recipes that are big of flavour and light on your digestion. Our filling and creative menu of balanced vegan meals, will have you inspired to take a few recipes home. Think totally bespoke. No two breaks are the same. Our ‘triage’ approach diagnoses exactly what you wish-for and tailors a made-to-order event. We’ll curate a personalised accommodation, staff, menu and activity package to meet your group dynamics and needs. Koukoulee was founded by Vassia Simou. As a ‘burn-out’ survivor, Vassia’s wellness philosophy is that every once in a while, we need to reset so we can see the big picture. Taking time-out to ‘find your happy’ is a joyful and fun experience. Vassia has spent the last three years building a large team of hand-picked, incredible individuals who are experts in their fields of yoga, Pilates, chefs, PTs, beauty therapists, and masseurs. These passionate specialists put their soul into their craft. What they do is more than a job to them. Vassia has worked in marketing and events for over 12 years but she gets a real kick when bringing people together, creating beautiful experiences and seeing the smiles on their faces. In Greece - where she comes from - it’s called ‘filoxenia’.

✨ Three Years of Koukoulee ✨
Today marks a milestone I don’t take lightly. Three years of a small idea becoming a space that holds people — their routines, their rituals, their healing, their joy, their tiredness, their beginnings again.

Running a business on a little island, in a community I love, has been the biggest classroom. These three years have asked for courage, resilience, creativity, softness, boundaries, deep breaths, and a belief that the work we do matters — not loudly, but quietly, consistently, day after day.

What’s carried me through is something I keep returning to: gratitude.
Not as a pretty word, but as a practice — the kind that anchors you when things feel uncertain, and expands your heart when things go well.

Gratitude for every teacher and therapist who has poured their energy, care, and talent into this space.
Gratitude for the community who chooses to come back, to trust us, to move and rest with us, to grow with us.
Gratitude for the people who believed in the vision long before it was clear, and for everyone who has walked through our doors since.

Three years is a big milestone. It means we’ve weathered the quiet seasons, celebrated the full ones, learned from the messy parts, and kept going — with intention and heart.

Thank you for being part of this journey, for letting Koukoulee be woven into your life in big and small ways.
Here’s to year four — with more depth, more learning, more connection, and more gratitude at the centre of it all 🤍

Just a note that tonight is our Restore + Nidra class — and it may be our last one for a little while. We’re really sad to let it go; we’ve truly tried everything to keep it on the schedule, but it seems like there just hasn’t been enough interest to sustain it.

If you’ve been meaning to come, or if you’d like to experience it once more, we would love to have you in the space tonight. It’s such a beautiful way to wind down, reset the nervous system and settle into the evening.

Starting next week, we’ll be offering a Vinyasa class with Satya in this time slot. To honour the spirit of the Nidra practice, we’ll be including a short guided Nidra at the end of each Vinyasa session — a way to keep that deep rest woven into your week.

Holly grew up right here on Waiheke, and after a few years away living in Queenstown, Melbourne, and Auckland, she’s come back to the island she loves. With a Diploma in Beauty & Spa Therapies (Elite School of Beauty, 2017) and experience in facials, massage, and holistic treatments, she brings both skill and heart to her work.

What stands out most about Holly is her bright, loving energy — she has that natural gift of making people feel instantly at ease. She’s excited to keep learning, grow alongside our team, and share her passion for supporting healthy minds, bodies, and souls.

I’ll be honest — I’ve been in a rut for months. Greece, renovations, parenting… my wellness routine slipped further and further away while the excuses piled higher: “next week, not today,” “too tired, too busy,” you name it.

And here’s the irony — I’m in the studio every single day, yet stepping into the yoga room felt like a giant leap. 🧘‍♀️

Last night a friend physically pulled me off the sofa and into Pilates (sometimes we all need that friend). And today, to keep the momentum alive, I walked into Vinyasa — and remembered instantly why I love this practice. The moment my feet hit the mat, my breath caught up with me, my mind quieted, and I thought: oh, there you are.

The aftershocks? My energy shifted, my mood lifted, I feel more creative, more productive. Basically, I swapped excuses for endorphins — and it feels incredible.

So if you’ve been stuck too, please know you’re not alone. It’s been a long winter. The blocks are mostly in our minds — and when you move them, even just for one class, you’ll thank yourself a thousand times over.

We offer wellness retreats and morning yoga events at some of Waiheke’s most stunning locations. Our yoga studio in Oneroa is open for daily classes and one-off events and workshops. Looking for a private session for your group? We can organise yoga & brunch (or just yoga) at your space for your group.
