Something special is unfolding at Eastwest ✨

EASTWEST FEST in collaboration with MORPH FESTIVAL

A celebration of new guardianship

An afternoon to gather, move, and reconnect as the studio shifts into its next chapter.

Together we’ll share a curated experience of movement, breath and music — designed to awaken the body, regulate the nervous system, and bring us into rhythm with one another.

✨ Hot Pilates to energise & ignite
✨ Guided Breathwork to restore & reset
✨ Soundbath with Maryam to soften & integrate
✨ Dance & DJ set with Leah Luna & Buzzy from Morph Festival

We begin grounded in breath and movement, and gently expand into sound, rhythm and celebration.

Free Hot Pilates Class ✨

Join us in welcoming Hot Pilates to the schedule with a free class on Saturday 21st at 11.00am with !

A class for all levels and bodies, it’s a practice designed to leave you feeling energised, strong and really good in your body.

After class please stay for some kawhe, snacks, and a catch-up in reception — a chance to connect and move together, and spend some time in the space.

As this is a free class and spots are limited, we recommend booking.

Kia ora everyone 🤍 Freya here 👋🏼

Over the past week, it’s been so lovely being at Eastwest and meeting - and reconnecting with - so many of you. This space holds such a special energy, and that’s because of the people who practice, teach, and gather here.

As the new kaitiaki (caretaker) of East West, I want to acknowledge and thank Sheryn and Amelia for the care, dedication, and heart they’ve poured into this studio over the years. The foundations they’ve created - alongside Nicky before them - are deeply felt, and I hold a lot of reverence for what they’ve built and created here.

My intention moving forward is to honor the foundation that already exists here while thoughtfully adding to it over time. I’ll be introducing a few new offerings gradually and with care, always with the community at the center of every decision. What won’t change is the heart of this place - the teachers, the practice, and the sense of connection that makes Eastwest what it is.

You’ll see me around the studio - teaching, chatting, at reception and in the hot room - and I’d really love to get to know you. Please always feel welcome to come say hi ✨️

Tēnā Koutou whānau 🤍

As many of you know, today marks the last day for us in our current role as owners/kaitiaki of Eastwest. Our hearts are full with aroha and gratitude for the rich journey that it has been for us both over the last nine years. So much richness - the incredible yoga inviting us to move our bodies, quieten our minds and open our hearts, reclaiming our Reo, our Bailey girl laying in the middle of reception waiting for your pats, the whakawhanaungatanga and community of inspiring people, the arrival of our darling boy Kāhu, the laughter, tears, support, love... So many memories that we will always cherish.

To everyone who has been a part of this journey with us at Eastwest, tēnei te mihi aroha, te mihi kauanuanu, ki a koutou. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

We are excited for what this next chapter holds for Eastwest. the wonderful new owner, is stepping in with passion, aroha, and reverence for this amazing space and community. You are in great hands. We are happy to say that we will still be teaching, and practicing beside you. It’s not a goodbye, simply a changing of roles, and a closing of this chapter to make space for something new and beautiful.

From tomorrow Freya will be your point of contact for all things Eastwest related. She will be in studio and is looking forward to connecting with you.

💌 To our Beloved Eastwest Whānau,

After almost 10 years as kaitiaki of this community and space, it is time for us to hand over the reins to someone new.

We have been quietly searching for the right person to step in and guide Eastwest into its next chapter, and are thrilled to announce that person is the wonderful —Past loved teacher at Eastwest, and current owner of .nz

We are filled with many sweet memories, heart felt connections, and so much gratitude and aroha for our time at Eastwest. Thank you to all of you who have practiced with us over the years, it is an incredible privilege to share practice, breath, and space with you all.

This year has been a big one for both of us and we are excited to stepping back in more fully for these next 2 months to share practice and kōrero with you before settlement on the 20th of January.

In the meantime—please be assured that
this transition will be as supportive and seamless as possible. All memberships and passes will continue as normal. If you have any questions, concerns, or reflections that you would like to share please email us.
