Mid-Winter Christmas Dinners at Greenwich Gardens

Over two magical nights, we welcomed 160 residents to celebrate with delicious food, festive cheer, and wonderful company. Empty plates were a great sign and the smiles said it all! A big thank you to all the staff involved and of course our bouncy snowwoman (aka Heather our Village Manager) who brought extra joy to the evening!

A proper British night out right here at the village in celebration of the King's birthday! Last week’s pub dinner was full of hearty laughs, delicious comfort foods and top notch company. From sing-alongs to bangers n mash and fish n chips, it was a jolly good time all around!

Late last month there was a Van trip organised by a resident driver to Huia with fellow residents. Perfect weather for an excursion!

Our Greenwich Gardens resident Yvonne Ambler was nominated on the spot to be the guest conductor during last weeks Morning Melodies concert with the North Shore Brass Band - and she nailed it! A fabulous job leading the band in perfect unison and a moment to remember, well done Yvonne!

At Metlifecare Villages this year we did something a little bit different for Mothers Day and provided our residents with keep cups, here are some appreciative mothers receiving their gifts.

So lovely to see everyone dressed in pink and getting into the spirit of the occasion. Today is about coming together as a community to raise awareness and funds for the Breast Cancer Foundation. A portion of our breakfast proceeds will be donated to help support their vital work.

Pink Ribbon cupcakes have been lovingly made by Judy Henderson and generously sponsored by our Resident Committee. They’re available for a koha donation, and every little bit helps.

Thank you all again for being part of this special morning, for showing up, dressing up, and making a difference. Hope you enjoyed your breakfast!

Our final stage of apartments and facilities are now complete! We enjoyed a lovely afternoon of food, drinks and entertainment to celebrate the opening of our Kauri & Totara apartments and facilities. We have added a new Pavillion, Garden Room, croquet lawn, resident lounge, another large activity room and a wonderul new art room. We also have a wonderful range of brand new One bedroom, One bedroom plus a Study, Two and Three bedroom apartments available. In February we celebrated the Chinese New Year with a special dinner and a wonderful show by talented performers from the Sound of Auckland Performing Arts Association

Tui resident Bernadette Wigley and her wonderful Little Patchers Quilt Group crafted a further 40 stunning quilts since December. These will be distributed to Waitākere, North Shore or Middlemore Hospitals for babies in intensive care, where they were gratefully received by Debbie Adding.

To date they have made over 150 quilts since they began making these in April 2024, using the fabrics and sewing threads that continue to be generously donated by fellow residents. What amazing generosity from this talented group!
