I had such a great time co-hosting The Nutters Club on Newstalk ZB last Sunday!

Mick Andrew and I had an inspiring chat with Laura Gavin about her journey through post-natal depression and how she found hope and healing. Her story is so important and a reminder that help and support are always out there.

If you missed it, you can listen to the episode here: https://www.newstalkzb.co.nz/on-air/nutters-club/laura-gavin-finding-pathways-through-post-natal-depression/

Let’s keep the conversation going—no one should have to face mental health challenges alone! 💙

Body image struggles don’t discriminate – they affect all genders and are more common than we think. As a clinical psychologist passionate about the well-being of Kiwis, I know support is out there and change is possible. Had a blast chatting on radio (catch me at min 27!) sharing real talk, a few laughs, and practical tips. Let’s keep breaking stigma together!

OMG, 13 years ago 😅. Won regional (Auckland), then national (Palmerston North), then competed in Australia… Best things were: 1) learning to do research with great supervisors (in second language 😅); 2) learning to compete in public-speaking with great coaches; and 3) spending time on the Gold Coast

A presentation on her research into loneliness won an Albany campus psychology student the inaugural Three-Minute Thesis competition yesterday.

Kia ora! I am reaching out to my network to see if I have any connections in the aged care sector?

I am doing an applied research project into the mental well-being of older adults as part of my EMBA with Massey University, which builds on my doctoral research on the alleviation of loneliness among older people.

I would be very grateful for connections in management of retirement facilities (Ryman, Oceania, Sommerset, etc.) and/or Ministry of Health.

Thanks in advance 🙏
