Today New Zealand pharmacists will join millions of pharmacists around the globe in celebrating their roles in health care and in research on the 10th anniversary of World Pharmacists Day.

Our priority during the COVID-19 pandemic response is to ensure all New Zealanders have access to funded medicines and medical devices, and we know our community and hospital pharmacists have that same priority.

The efforts of our pharmacists and pharmacy staff have meant New Zealanders have been able to continue to receive their medicines throughout lockdown and through the alert levels.

New Zealanders’ uninterrupted access to funded pharmaceuticals is at the heart of what we do and we know how important it is to our pharmacists too. And for that, we say thank you!

GP practices are OPEN but they’re working differently.

You can now request a prescription:
✅ After a direct consult in-person with your doctor
✅ Through video consultation or by phoning the nurse/doctor
✅ By accessing the patient portal associated with your medical centre (e.g Health365 or MyPractice) and requesting repeat prescriptions online.

Prescriptions are then sent electronically to the pharmacy of your choice.
