Having started a year ago, I’m now a registered Yoga for Menopause & beyond teacher thanks to the wonderful work of Niamh Daly who is based in Greystones County Wicklow in my birth country! 🇮🇪

This has been, without question, the most challenging training I’ve undertaken. Not just because of the depth of learning — which was incredibly eye-opening, rich in science, and, if anything, made me question so much — but because of what it asked of me personally.

Yoga trainings have a way of doing that. They’re never just about learning techniques or information. They invite you into your own process, your own edges, your own transformation. That’s what makes it yoga, not just movement science or a technique.

I feel deeply proud of completing this one.

And even more grateful to now be integrating these learnings into my classes, and into the retreat on 21 June — supporting women through the various phase from late reproductive years, into the autumn of perimenopause, the winter of menopause and the second spring beyond regardless of age, with more understanding, nuance, empowerment and care.

This work matters so much to me, it touches half of the population. Do get in touch if you’d like to know more about it ♥️

PS: I highly recommend Niamh’s Yoga for menopause & beyond book to yoga teachers and practitioners alike

Myofascial Release Workshop (Arms, Neck & Shoulders)

A practical 90-minute session to help reduce muscle tightness and improve mobility.

Myofascial release (MFR) works with fascia—the web of connective tissue that surrounds and supports your muscles and bones. When it becomes restricted (from repetitive movement, stress, or load), it can contribute to that familiar feeling of stiffness or soreness. Using gentle, intelligent pressure with massage balls can help these areas soften and move more freely.

We’ll focus on the arms, neck, and shoulders—common areas of tension from training, desk work, or carrying kids.

Expect a steady, accessible session where release work is woven together with active (yang yoga-style) movement, finishing with longer-held yin yoga poses to help everything settle.

You’ll leave with simple techniques you can use at home. A massage ball is included.

Suitable for general tightness or soreness (not acute injuries).

Summer’s brightness is softening… the evenings feel a little cooler, the light a little gentler. Autumn invites us to slow down 🍂

On Sunday 2 March • 6:30pm I’ll be guiding a 2-hour Autumn Yin Yoga Journey at Koukoulee wellness Oneroa — a practice designed to help you transition from the outward energy of summer into the quieter, reflective months ahead.

🔸What is Yin yoga?
Unlike dynamic styles of yoga, Yin is slow, still, and meditative. We softly settle into shapes for several minutes at a time, gently working into the deeper layers of the body — the fascia, joints and connective tissue, rather than the muscles.

🔸Why fascia?
Fascia is the body’s continuous web of connective tissue that surrounds and links every muscle, bone and organ. It responds best to slow, sustained load and time — not force.
The Yin poses are chosen to intelligently stress and stimulate the body, the mind-body connection is reinforced, the tissues hydrate and become more resilient. This is why Yin can feel deeply releasing in a way stretching alone often doesn’t — instead of pushing, we allow the body to unwind from the inside out.

🔸How I guide your practice
My Yin classes weave together long holds and periods of rebound with mindfulness and gentle awareness practices. Rather than “doing” the pose, you’re invited to observe sensation, breath and subtle shifts in the body. This is where the real change happens — the nervous system softens, the mind quietens, and the body feels safe enough to let go.

This extended session will allow you to journey deep into your body, it includes long holds, breath awareness, rest, and a closing relaxation — a seasonal reset for body and mind.

🔸Come as you are. Leave quieter than you arrived🔸

Huge thanks to all the generous souls who donated gifts again this year for the Waiheke Budgeting Trust. These will be shared with members of our island community who need a little extra support at this time of year.

It felt really special to come together on the mat and dedicate our practice to the gift recipients, and to anyone having a tough time or affected by the many difficult events happening around the world.

Yoga is so much more than a physical practice. It’s easy to focus on our own growth and transformation, but moments like this are a reminder of the wider ripples our practice can create beyond ourselves.

There’s so much goodness in community — this is why I love Waiheke 🏝️💕
