Calling all mums, mums-to-be, dads, grandparents, aunties, and uncles!
Whooping cough cases are on the rise in NZ, and it’s a serious infection that spreads quickly. A national pertussis (whooping cough) epidemic has been declared. Let’s protect our whānau, especially if you are expecting.
💉 Best Protection Tips:
Expecting mums: Vaccination during pregnancy (recommended at 16 weeks) offers the best protection for your little one.
Infants: On-time vaccinations at 6 weeks, 3 months, and 5 months, with boosters at 4 and 11 years, provide ongoing defense.
Family Members: It’s essential for close contacts like dad and grandparents to be vaccinated, too.
🤰 Did you know? All pregnant women qualify for a fully funded whooping cough vaccination in the second or third trimester of every pregnancy.
✨ For others: Some people also qualify for free vaccinations. If not, our practice can still vaccinate anyone 13 and older (note, a fee applies if unfunded).
