Cone Radiology introduces the latest and only NewTom VGI-Evo Cone Beam CT to Auckland and New Zealand. The NewTom VGI-Evo is a specialised scanner which captures a series of 360 images in a single 18 second scan. From this, 3D images, including primary reconstruction images in multiple planes are produced. These high quality images assist the specialist to form an accurate diagnosis and management plan for their patients. The NewTom VGI-Evo Cone Beam CT uses only 10% of the radiation a conventional CT scanner uses and better still the scanner automatically adjusts the radiation dosage according to the age and weight of the patient. Children receive up to 40% less radiation than adults during a typical scan.
