My three-session approach is designed to guide you toward greater balance, health, and well-being. Yogis and Yoginis
I’m Ash, a Yoga Therapist from South India. Yoga, for me, is not just a profession or physical discipline. It is my culture, my religion, my tradition, and my spiritual practice.
The Beginning of My Journey
My journey into yoga began from a place of deep personal struggle, navigating liver dysfunction, unhealthy habits, weight fluctuations, and spiritual uncertainty. Having a degree in nursing initially gave me a scientific understanding of modern medicine, and I explored modern yoga, but I gradually came to realize that these commonly practiced approaches are limited in their healing scope. During this time, I often found myself recalling the stories my mother used to tell me about my grandfather, a well-respected Ayurvedic healer. Inspired by his life’s work, I made the choice to turn away from conventional medicine and give holistic yoga a sincere, wholehearted try. That decision became a turning point, one that reshaped my life on every level.
Immersion and Transformation
What started as personal experimentation in a therapeutic form of yoga called Vinyasa Krama evolved into full immersion. I realized it wasn’t just a physical healing that was occurring. I wanted to go deeper. I ended up walking the full path living as a monk in a South Indian ashram, spending countless hours meditating and contemplating in ancient Shiva temples, and going on sacred pilgrimages in South India. Those experiences weren’t just healing, they were affirmations of the depth and transformative power of authentic yoga.
A Responsibility to Preserve
Throughout my years of study, my gurus, teachers and mentors placed a deep responsibility on me which is to preserve ancient yoga in its purest form, as it was, not as it has become. Modern yoga has often reduced this sacred tradition to fitness routines, stripping away its soul. I teach to reverse that trend.
Why I Teach
I teach because yoga changed me. And because I believe it can change others too, not just in body, but in mind, soul, and spirit. It’s not about becoming more flexible, it’s about shedding the old skin, the old story, and being reborn.
While many branches of yoga have emerged over time, my offering is rooted in the source. I teach Vinyasa Krama taught by the great master T. Krishnamacharya. In Vinyasa Krama, each movement, each breath, and each pause is purposeful and tailored to individual needs. I am not an asana-flow yoga teacher. While I respect that culture and do work within it, my offering goes far beyond that. My niche is personalized yoga. Offerings & Services
