NYC REFLECTIONS🌇🫶🏾✨️💖

I grew up as a teenager with the birth and rise of hip hop culture in the 90s - Biggie, Kross Kolours, Boys n the Hood, Spike Lee - so many icons and iconic images of this magick city/portal burnt into my brain

So to get a chance to head there, and not only that, but to serve breath medicine with and the X Men crew was literally the dream come true.

As my plane landed I actually started crying, like me, little ole me, the maori girl from Aotearoa who was told she would never be anything, landing in the city of dreams to serve Mana Maori epicness - it was definitely a peak moment in my herstory.

I fell in love and got my first taste and my first crush on NYC - that's for real.

Big shoutouts to the homies and for the magick invite, weave and for being so real✨️🫶🏾💖 Aunty loves you!

During our facilitators meet up, Lukis asked us what we were most proud of about ourselves? For me it was reflecting on how far I've come as a Mama, parent, guide, teacher and facilitator in the time that I have been doing breathwork. Undoubtedly its changed my life.

There's a saying...

"Those that step back on the land receive the gifts."

And I believe this with every ounce of my being because, yes, I've done it.

In Te Ao Māori, we have the concept of TŪRANGAWAEWAE, which literally translates to "place of standing," This usually refers to the place or home of belonging that you whakapapa or are connected to through lineage. It's where the bones are.

For most of us, myself included, we have/had been disconnected from our places of standing, connection and lineage, and more often than not, that activates another not-so-choice saying, "dis-connection leads to dis-ease"

Some of us have been severed from these connections, and some of us have chosen to run away from them, perhaps because pain, suffering, and mamae have transpired there.

Whatever the reasons, one thing is true, until you return home and place your feet on that earth, parts or all of you will remain unanchored, disconnected, disassociated and you will continue to seek answers and to find a home in other medicines that are not rooted in your own.

People ask me all the time what to do, and I will always turn them back to themselves and whisper to them while I Mirimiri the ancestral codes and wisdoms out of their bones "Go home, put your feet on the land and listen"

This is the homecoming we all seek.

The challenge for most of us is overcoming this ridiculous notion, of "I don't know where I'm from." The truth, dear one, is that nothing is ever lost. Again, ask your bones, seek out the Seer to give you the wisdoms and confirmations sealed in ancient, cosmic tombs.

Then be brave. Go on the pilgrimage, the quest, the rite of passage. You will find all that your heart desires and ultimately discover the map that leads you back home to you.

We're just about wrapped up here in Te Wai Pounamu, cruising across to land in Poneke to light it up with this Sunday

First up on the Raumati tour is the City of Sails - Auckland!

We'll be kicking off with a Mirimiri rā in the heart of the city THIS FRIDAY hosted at THE DOJO by the Basement theatre - big aroha to our sis for the tautoko of the space

If the busy CBD is not your vibe - the following Friday I'll be out amongst the elements in PIHA.

So choose your vibe, select your day/time, and payment of choice (infull, afterpay or deposit/pay on the day) and you are good to go!

All Mirimiri are 1.5 hours to ensure we have all the time and space we need for a Cacao, a korero and of course UPGRADES!

I only have 5 time slots on each day so I'd run, not walk to book a place😅🏃‍♀️

Finally, HAU TAPU BREATHWORK is also going down in Piha on Saturday 16th at 11.11, this event has an open scale of ticketing, so choose what suits your needs - make a day of it - I'll be headed to the black sands and the wild water for a purea after, so nau mai, haere mai whanau!
