When I started working with Karen & Kanika, due to some stressful situations I was experiencing daily anxiety and bouts of depression—something I’d never dealt with before. It was escalating quickly, and I found myself using alcohol just to get through. I knew something had to change. I came into Kanika therapy hoping to find some sense of daily peace.
What I found has been far more powerful than I expected.
I've now been alcohol-free for four months, without struggle. My anxiety has eased significantly—of course, life still throws curveballs, but now I have tools. The breathing techniques, body awareness, and belief work Kanika taught me have been game-changing. I feel calm and capable of coping.
The Kanika method is unlike any other therapy I’ve tried. At first, it felt unfamiliar—working with breath, bones, and beliefs—but once I leaned in and trusted the process, it became incredibly exciting to start letting go of old beliefs and patterns that were holding me back.
Karen has an amazing talent—her intuitiveness, calm, and caring manner made every session feel safe and grounded. I always felt relaxed and 100% trusted that she had my best interests at heart.
One of the most transformative moments was recognising how I react to things, and why. That awareness has helped me pause, check in with myself, and respond differently. Understanding that so much of my fear and worry came from outdated beliefs—and that I don’t have to carry them anymore—has been a huge shift.
Another powerful realisation was understanding how our body is always speaking to us—if we slow down and listen. It's not easy at first but with Kanika you can learn to listen. This work taught me to drop in, feel the feels and learn what my body is saying. It's all about letting go.
Since beginning this journey, I’m calmer, happier, more confident, and surprisingly bubbly and chatty—something I never thought I’d say about myself. My shyness has taken a back seat, and I feel more connected to myself than ever before. Plus I've gone from zero exercise to a committed weekly exercise plan 3-4 times weekly. My motivation is back and increasing.
