What a fun two weeks of September / October holidays! We loved all our Getaways, Youth Camps and Holiday Programmes across the motu, and we hope you did too!

This week we turn our attention to team training, where we are all congregating in Auckland for a few days. This also means we have no programmes during this week, so it may mean we are a little slow to replying to you!

We also have staffing news, with a a few sad farewells and a warm welcome back to Sophie in the Bay.

And finally, we support the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics New Zealand, details inside!

At Recreate we sure do love our girl Taylor Swift!

We had so much fun watching the Eras Tour, poster making, challenging ourselves with a Taylor quiz, and friendship bracelet making.

We are now in our second week of the school holidays, with a huge 4-day Youth Camp starting tomorrow for our Aucklanders aged 15-25 years at Camp Morley near Clarks Beach.

We hope all our campers have an awesome week!

Mount Maunganui always brings the great times! This Getaway for our Young Adults featured mini golf, hot pools, a hike up the Maunga and the local markets!

Marvelous Mangawhai indeed! We loved our time at the Milky Way Glow Worm Tour in Waipu, and visiting the Goat Island Marine Discovery Centre.

We also checked out the local markets and of course the beautiful beaches ☀🏖

So the result wasn't the greatest for us against South Africa, but nonetheless we loved watching the All Blacks on the big screen at Recreate!

We are wrapping up our Term 3 / Winter Moxie and Life Skills programmes this week, which means we look forward to seeing you all on our Holiday Programmes, Getaways and Youth Camps from next week!

We warmly welcome you to our official launch of our newly created Recreate Kitchen and Gardens, 5-7pm Friday 10th October.

This project will greatly improve our ability to host our events and programmes, and also make this an even better experience for our community of young people!

Last month our Over 30's group enjoyed Kelly Tarlton's and scrapbooking on our Sea it, Scrap it Urban!

We loved seeing the creativity shine through, following on from our under the sea outing on Tamaki Drive.

A big highlight from last month was our Taste of the Pacific Urban, where we joined the wonderful Pacifica Arts Centre at Corban Estate Arts Centre in Henderson, West Auckland.

The afternoon involved a lunch consisting of Chop Suey, Panikeke, Koko Samoa Cake, and a Ula Lole Making workshop at Recreate.

So much fun was had, we hope all our participants had a great time!

We were so fortunate to have our personalised tour of the incredible Avocado Tours NZ site in Katikati during the recent Papamoa Paradise Getaway for young adults.

It just happened to be the birthday for Michelle, owner of the orchard, over that weekend so we had to celebrate the occasion with them!

"Omg I got so emotional when the group sang me happy birthday 🥰"

Our facilitator Zamira just loved the guacamole and heading up the avocado picker as did our participants, and Michella and Tim loved her leadership and facilitation. Michelle says, "Zamira is really awesome. She definitely is the right person in that role."

Thanks you Michelle and Tim for hosting us, we must return!
