In-Touch N.Z. Baby Massage There are so many benefits to infant massage - let me show you the enjoyment of giving your baby a massage and feel the benefits for both of you.

Hi

I am Juliet and I trained to become a qualified Infant Massage Teacher in 2009 with www.touchlearn.co.uk through my work as a family support worker for Barnardos UK. In 2011 I moved to New Zealand and started work as an Early Years Teacher; however my passion for continuing to teach parents the wonderful benefits of baby massage didn't go away. So when I went back for a holiday to the UK in 2

013, I attended a refresher course as part of my continuing professional development, so that I could start to teach baby massage locally in Auckland. I am excited to teach parents the many important benefits for both baby and parents that baby massage gives, as well as the skills and confidence with the massage strokes to give your baby a massage. Loving Touch is a fundamental human need and vital for both emotional and physical health.

Knowing that I am making a difference keeps me motivated to complete my sleep consultant training. 🥰

"Since working with Juliet, my daughter has made such big strides in improving her sleep. She has adapted well to her schedule and very rarely strays off track. She is soon to be 4 months and so far there have been no signs of a sleep regression but when it comes, I am confident that I have been equipped with all the tools that Juliet has provided to help with that transition. I am extremely grateful to Juliet for her work with us all while pregnant! Her advice and kindness is of such high value to myself especially as a single parent who will soon return to working full time. I would absolutely recommend Juliet's services to families who are wishing for a healthier and holistic approach in helping both babies and families sleep better."

I'm excited to announce that I am currently studying to be a sleep consultant! Which works perfectly alongside baby massage. A little massage would be a wonderful bedtime or morning ritual to your little ones day.

Ohh and I'm also expecting my first little one in April 🥰. So it's been a busy year with moving house again too. Very excited to put what I am learning regarding healthy sleep into practice. As well as continue to support lots of mums and children get better sleep.

Looking forward to adapting the name to In-Touch N.Z.Baby Massage and sleep 😴.

It's time to relaunch my passion for baby massage. I am looking for new ways to connect via one - one or small group sessions especially as lockdowns due to covid-19 has made connecting in person not a safe option. Let me know if you or someone you know is interested in learning more about baby massage via zoom.

Why Do We Do It?
I'm not sure why we grown-ups 'make' babies do what we want them to do instead of letting them to achieve their own genetically encoded goals. Babies who are nurtured, and who have time on their backs, will get from their backs to standing and running all by themselves - if we let them. There is no need to 'tummy time' children (or any evidence of any benefit of that practice), sit them, prop them or walk them. If we can give them the nurture they require, and room to move and workout, they will achieve every milestone when they are ready. I recommend "Unfolding of Infants' Natural Gross Motor Development" by Dr Emmi Pikler for all early childhood teachers. Dr Pikler's contribution to the increased understanding (of physical development) in the paediatric world last century has still to be integrated by those working education.

This calming technique is so simple, while offering so much for our newborns and yourselves. Please pass this on because, like many of the things I teach, this is one of those things that I wish all parents knew...
