When you've gotta go, you've gotta go!
I used to travel a lot with work when my IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome) was at it's most fierce .
When it was particularly bad, I would literally map out all of the public toilets in the area I was travelling, fearful I would get caught short.
My body didn't want to cooperate at times. I had a couple of very close calls, causing extreme panic and embarrassment.
Some of you reading this will be thinking, “Yuk, that’s revolting, what a thing to talk about.”
But the reality is, it’s unfortunately incredibly common. I’m sure many of you know someone who has been battling with the harsh realities of IBS.
It can be frustrating, desperation inducing and completely disruptive to daily life, feeling like you’ve been taken hostage by your symptoms.
But this doesn’t have to be a forever reality.
Once the root cause is identified, things can change dramatically!
You can get to a place where, you don’t need to scope out every toilet before you leave the house. You can eat without fear of a flare-up. You can plan trips, events, and meals with confidence. And your gut, most importantly, no longer runs your life!
With the right knowledge, support and approach, there is a resolution.
I’ve seen it happen time and time again, and I’m proof that you don’t have to stay stuck.
Your body is designed to heal when it’s given the right environment!
