JSJ is a simple way to connect with your animal, help them thru trauma, illness or surgery. It uses pressure points held in a sequence and easy to apply
Jin Shin Jyutsu® is an ancient art that works with the bodies subtle energy flows to restore and maintain physical harmony and mental emotional well being. By gently holding specific locations in combined sequences along these energy pathways you can facilitate the release of stress and tension as well as unlocking the body’s innate ability to heal naturally. Jin Shin Jyutsu for animals is and extension of Jin Shin Jyutsu for people. I teach self help classes for working with our animal friends. Animals naturally understand and respond to this non-invasive healing modality and sharing Jin Shin Jyutsu with your animal companion is a deeply rewarding experience.
Animals are not lesser than us, they have just chosen to participate differently, our lives would be more difficult without them. Many HUmans don't yet act effectively or responsibly in emotional situations. Until we master this animals work with us on unconscious levels and help keep our emotions and thus physicality in balance but they also have their own evolutionary process and so we work in partnership with them; a co-evolutionary relationship. Jin Shin Jyutsu is wonderful for animals and also for HUmans, to help us live more fully, and as we do this we help our animal friends harmonize and evolve. For this reason I have included a simple flow for you to use on yourself. Your animal will also benefit as you work on yourself. This flow is called the Main Central Vertical flow and harmonizes the mind, nervous system, digestion, warms cold legs and much, much more. Sit quietly with your animal companion and try it.

Animals have a deep, profound consciousness connection with us. They know when we are coming home and you often find them sitting at the door or gate waiting. They work with our mind, body and spirit, they help us transform. Animals have a very pure connection to source, they live in the 'NOW', the present, the moment and they bring us into the 'now' when we are with them. Animals inspire us to be playful, free, forgiving and to be the FUN (Fulfillment, Understanding, No thing), which promotes higher consciousness. ALL animals are precious beings that we do not own, but journey with and share the earth with. Be their guardian.
To connect with them use the flow below
Sit on their left
Put your left hand across both of their 13s
and your right hand across both of their 10s
If you are connecting with a larger animal just use their left 13 and 10.
The above chart shows where 10 and 13 are located.

My kids had many guinea pigs and rabbits whilst growing up, below somewhere is a pic of my youngest with one of his baby guinea pigs. They were great little creatures and would often sit on his lap for long periods being spoken to softly and patted. It's very easy to give them a Jin Shin Jyutsu flow while they are sitting on your lap, just place one hand on there chest 13/22 area on the diagram and the other hand on their 10 (see diagram). They are small creatures so your hand will probably cover the whole 4, 12, 11 3, 10 + 9 area. 10 and 13 is a very calming flow and helps you connect with them.

Animals have a chakra system very similar to ours but they have a special chakra that HUmans don't have. This is the brachial chakra, located either side of the shoulders, It is a key area for connection between animals and humans (how we connect). Holding this area in a special connecting flow that is explained below is a wonderful way to connect with an animal. It brings abundance and limitless life force and helps an animal to feel safe in the world. It helps them change their experience of life if they have been a rescue animal.
It also helps breathing, coughs, allergies, sinus, fertility, pregnancy, to learn new routines and it is great for animals that have been abused, neglected or abandoned.
Stand or sit on the left side of animal.
a) Place left hand on left 13 and right hand on left 10 (If you are working with a larger animal and can't reach the span).
b) Place left hand over both 13s and right hand over both 10s
(if you are working with a smaller animal)
It's a wonderful way to join up.
You can work from either side, just change hands.
Hi all, I haven't posted for a while but here is the 3rd of the 3 core flows. It's called a Mediator flow and it's helpful for harmonizing attitude, so if your animal companion is nervous, fearful, sad (if perhaps they are a rescue dog etc) this flow harmonizes all attitudes that negatively affect life. It brings rhythm, so good for any animal that is out of rhythm and also is helpful for bloat.
If the animal is standing, stand to their right if they are laying on their left side stand or sit at their back.
Step 1. Place your left hand on their right 10 and your right hand on their right 19 (see the chart for their points (numbers) on the site I have recommended below.
You can hold for 5 or 10 minutes or longer if your animal is happy.
If you have a dog/puppy this guy has a great book out and online training programs. His name is Mark Vette, he's an animal psychologist and hosts a program in NZ called Purina Pound Pups, which is all about retraining unwanted and problem dogs and finding them homes.

aeon.co That pigs are smart and sensitive is not in doubt. How can we justify continuing to kill them for food?
I recently worked with an animal friend who had received some rather bad treatment at HUman hands and was very nervous around being touched. Jin Shin Jyutsu is great in that I was able to sit close to this little creature and use the flows on myself.
I crossed hand and places my thumbs on my 13s and fingertips under my armpits an sat quietly for 20 minutes. The next time I went I again sat close and worked on myself, this time sitting crossed legged and holding left hand (LH) on left 8 and my right hand (RH) held each toe of my left foot (one at a time/2-3 minutes per step). On the third visit I was able to give the dog a short flow. We used RH on center 10 and LH on center 13, sitting on her left side.
When you share Jin Shin Jyutsu with you animal companion, something special happens, animals have a knowing of Jin Shin Jyutsu, they accept it with such openness, love and grace.
Mary Burmeister, who greatly furthered the teachings of Jiro Murai always referred to the practice of Jin Shin Jyutsu as an art.
ART vs TECHNIQUE
"Healing is not so much a science or technique, but it is an "art". "ART" is a possible translation of the Greek [word] techne, which sometimes finds itself translated as technique. [An Art or] Practice is more than merely the application of knowledge." (Gadamer) (The Cambridge Companion to Gadamer, pg 10)
The 2nd of the 3 core flows is the Supervisor flow. This can be applied to animals very easily using two simple holds on each side.
To help any projects on the left side of the body - sit on the animals left side
Place your left hand on their Left 11 and
Your Right hand on there left 15
Then move your Right hand only to their left 25
Hold each step for 2 - 5 minutes or as long as they allow
To help any projects that occur on the right side of the body, sit on the animals right side and and use the same safety energy locks (points) but use opposite hands.
There is a video of this flow being utilized on some little piggies on the video section of this page
If your animal friend doesn't wish to be touched, just sit nearby and use the flow on yourself.
If your have any questions, feel free to message me. You can find a chart with the points/numbers you need to hold on the NZ website jinshinjyutsu.org.nz or alternatively buy Adele Lees animal book from jsj.inc.net
There are 3 main (core) flows in Jin Shin Jyutsu, these are easy to use on animals, the first is the Main Central Vertical flow that I have shown in the earlier dog and bird videos posted, it can be utilized on any animal with some adjustments for larger animals. The Main Central is our source of life for all beings and helps everything in the body so you can use it for anything.
All that is needed is gentle touch at each placement of the hands/fingers - you can stay on each spot briefly or a little longer - take the lead from your animal and your intuition.
Stand or sit to the left side of your friend or an animal in need;
Place Left Hand on centre top of their head (Right had stays here throughout) and
Right Hand on centre 12 (centre back of neck)
Right Hand only moves to centre scapula (covering centre 11, 3, 10, 9 - these can be done individually or together depending on the size of the animal)
Right Hand only moves to centre 23
Right Hand only moves to base of tail (coccyx)
Animals don't need long and will let you know when they have had enough. Typically animals only need a 5 - 20 min treatment once a week or one treatment per day if your working on a project. For very sick/week animals shorter sessions more often are better (5 - 15 mins several times per day).
If you have a larger animal please feel free to contact me and I will explain a tailored Main Central Flow.

11/25 and 11/15 is a great total body harmonizer. Work on the left side to harmonize that side of the body and the right side to harmonize the right side. 11/15 helps the legs, bones, circulation, spine, vascular and immune system and 11/25 helps behavioral projects (to be adaptable), elimination, fears, phobias, allergies and anxiety. This is such an easy flow, hold each step for 2-3 minutes or longer, your animal will let you know when they have had enough. For an animal chart showing the positions of the safety energy locks go to jinshinjyutsu.org.nz, then click on the self help charts.
These are Kunekune pigs (Maori for fat/round), they are one of the smaller breeds and very sociable, friendly and smart. Animals are very similar to us e.g. they have similar cervical, thoracic lumbar and sacrum and our coccyx is a short fused version of their caudal vertebrae. If you practice Jin Shin Jyutsu for people (if not taking a 5 day basic seminar is highly recommended) it's very easy to transfer the flows to your animal friend. There are a few differences e.g. piggies have no clavicle, which means they don't have so much freedom of directional movement. 22 who lives at the clavicle is "calm and content wherever you are/complete gathering and dispersal", maybe pigs are 'all good' when it comes to the message of 22. However 22 can still be found on these dear little creatures.
If your thinking of adopting or fostering a dog, this is a great site, these people do some amazing work.
