We are VERY EXCITED to be finally launching our Leto Belt, which we have specifically designed for pregnancy related back and pelvic pain. After working for many years with women suffering from back and pelvic pain, we decided to use all our clinical experience as well as feedback from our patients to design a belt that gave extra support and was more comfortable to wear!

Low back pain and pelvic girdle pain affects more than half of all pregnant women and can make it difficult to cope and participate in even the most basic everyday activities.
While there can be several factors that contribute to back and pelvic pain in pregnancy, the most common cause is the increased laxity of the joints of the pelvis (sacroiliac and/or p***c symphysis). The loss of core muscle support from the expanding abdomen and the change centre of gravity can also contribute.

Research shows that the application of a pelvic belt in pregnancy significantly decreases mobility of the pelvic joints in pregnancy and helps reduce symptoms of back and pelvic pain. The lightweight breathable fabric used in the Leto belt ensures a more comfortable fit than traditional belts, and the removeable additional support straps enables extra compression and support that can be individually adjusted and placed where it is most needed.

An all too common problem but one that you can actually do something about!! Please don’t ignore symptoms of incontinence- have an assessment with a women’s health physio and get advice on how to stop leaking and you’ll probably find you get improvements in core strength and performance as well!!

Women can give max effort in sport and remain dry. The same strategies we use to improve performance and reduce injury will also improve leaks with running.
