I am a qualified Nutrition coach and soon to be registered clinical nutritionist. I am also a qualified Fitness trainer and have 13 years' experience working with a range of clients. After my own experience with PCOS and most recently cancer, I have an appreciation for how important nutrition and movement is in recovery and healing. So here’s the thing, I choose to eat ‘healthy’ and move my body daily. Realistically I do more than move daily. I do specific cardio and lift weights with a specific focus each session. I’m purposeful and aim to build strength. I also do yoga and pilates for flexibility and my mental health.
What does irk me, is when I’m told to not be so strict, to relax a little, live a little. I do all of that and more, but I also choose to do things for my body that I hope long term, mean I can live my life well in the future. I want a healthy heart, I want to be able to move freely without restrictions caused by my size or my mobility. I don’t want to have to rely on medication because of the choices I made in regards to my diet & lifestyle. I enjoy food and the reality is, I know what works for me & makes me feel my best. Just as I wouldn’t shame anyone who lived differently to me and does enjoy a daily slice of cake and glass of wine, it goes both ways. You know what works for you and only you know if you’re living a life that truly works for you. We can all exist together 🥰🥰

A fast runner I am not. In fact, a client said they saw me running the other day, but hesitated on the word running. Most likely because my run was somewhere between a jog and turtle moving at speed. And I’m actually ok with that. I run because it’s my time out from life. I don’t have to talk to anyone, I don’t need to do anything for anyone and no one can reach me. Then there’s my own personal podcast of my thoughts in my head, I’m the host and there is no topic I don’t think about.
It’s so important that you listen to what your body needs at all stages and ages of life. It won’t always look the same and that’s ok. Holding on to what once worked when you were 25, probably won’t work at 45. That’s not a failing, that’s life. Listen to what works for you and let go of what no longer does. Find your joy, always 🩷💛🧡💙💚

Feeling both excited and a little nervous. At 42 years of age, I’m finally heading back to uni in February 2026. I’ve wanted to study counselling since I was 18 years of age and have even done level 3 but life happened and I never took it further. In reflection I realise I was in no way even close to being ready back then. They say cancer is a wake up call, and hand on heart I can say it was the kick I needed to start truly living the life I wanted. What did I actually want to do? Who was I? What did I actually believe in and feel passionate about. What mattered to me. There’s something about the words “you have cancer” that completely bring your world to a standstill, until you use them to start truly living your authentic life.
So here I am, standing at the starting line, ready to go. Thank you to those who wrote beautiful references, those who believed in me and pushed me forward to enrol. After interviewing and a lot of form filling in and writing, I’ve been offered a place. With only a few being offered I’m feeling rather chuffed ☺️

One Personal training session with me is great! But it isn’t enough if that’s all you do or if you have specific goals you want to achieve. Cardio should be daily in some form. Try to get, in the words of Kim “huffy puffy” (IYKYK) and strength training about 3 X a week.

Such an awesome holiday in Taupo. Shoes the kids the snow, relaxed in the spa and explored our surroundings. Of course I kept up the workouts, because looking after my health means staying on track. I took various weights and made it work. Feeling very grateful for a fantastic holiday 😌

Advertisements like this drive me insane. Often women find that they have loose skin on their bodies due to many different reasons. once the skin on the body is stretched, there is no amount of dieting or exercise that will reduce this or get rid of it. while you can build muscle in certain areas, no amount of muscle built will fill this space, so to speak, and remove the loose skin. It will however, build muscle in the areas you train and overall give you a more tighter toned appearance, but the loose skin will still be there.
More importantly, we need to stop focusing on body aesthetics as being an indicator of health and fitness. Strong and healthy isn’t a certain look and anyone selling it to you this way, is doing just that, selling. They have no interest in your health.

I wish I could say that when you decide to lose weight that it is going to be easy. That you could still eat everything you love, not track food, not address deep beliefs and thoughts around food, exercise and body image. But that wouldn’t be the truth. In order to change, you need to put in the work. This means at times it will be challenging, you will want to go back to old habits and familiar paths. But it’s those exact things that have brought you to where you are today.
This doesn’t mean it’s impossible, it means it requires an approach that works for you and supports you. Having support is giving you the best chance to be successful. A person who can guide you and help you adapt your plans when needed. Someone who can be there when you need the support and cheer you on when you succeed. I’m happy to have a chat to anyone who’s ready to make some changes so we can work out how best to get you to where you want to be.

Keeping on track with nutrition for me is so much a mental thing. If I eat well, I just feel better. I could look exactly the same but feel so much more confident. It brings calmness as well because I know that I’m making choices that are good for my body. The choices I make mean I have energy to run, to lift weights and to just bring the best version of myself to the world.

My name is Lauren and I am a Personal trainer and Health and Wellness coach working from home here in central Auckland. I have been training women now for around 6 years and in this time have grown, gained experience and developed my skills in an ever changing industry. Recently I have gained a qualification as a Health and Wellness coach, allowing me to offer my clients the complete package of health.
I think through past experiences and my own personal growth, which hasn't always been easy or comfortable, I am able to offer a very unique personal training and health coach experience. I am able to relate on a level of complete and empathetic understanding of most of my clients needs, goals and struggles.
I have a true passion to see women become more empowered, confident and happy with who they are in a world where we are constantly being bombarded by often unrealistic expectations. Expectations often place upon ourselves by social media, society and sadly and to often, ourselves. By working with women on their fitness, nutrition and lifestyle I can help and support clients to learn to love exactly who they are and what they bring to this world. Supporting them to become the best version of themselves and allowing them to use these accomplishments in all areas of their lives.
I believe in walking beside women to help them create a positive relationship with food and exercise so that it becomes something that so effortlessly fits into their life and is no longer something that is used as a tool to punish themselves with, or categorised into negative and positive groups, or good and bad foods. To finally have a relationship with food and exercise that is positive, removes that extra stress and pressure from women's lives and gives them time to focus on the far more important people and goals in their lives
Absolutely weight loss is often something that women want, and for some women reducing body fat is something that needs to be achieved in order for that person to be at optimal health. This however doesn't need to be yet another stressor that gets added to our already full on and heavy load that we constantly carry around with us. I've personally been through my own weight challenges and have even been at both ends of the spectrum. having been there i believe this makes me the perfect Health coach and Personal Trainer to work with women in similar situations. I know the guilt, the shame, the worry, the hate, anxiety and overwhelm that can come about from trying sort your eating and exercising.
I believe that every women is beautiful and has amazing talents, skills, uniqueness and beauty that is worth sharing with the world. Trust from the client in myself is so important, trust that the journey we are about to embark on is one that needs to be walked before we can run, it will often be bumpy and wont always be perfect. but with my support and encouragement along side them and their commitment and trust in me, together we can achieve their desired goals.
