I wish I could say that when you decide to lose weight that it is going to be easy. That you could still eat everything you love, not track food, not address deep beliefs and thoughts around food, exercise and body image. But that wouldn’t be the truth. In order to change, you need to put in the work. This means at times it will be challenging, you will want to go back to old habits and familiar paths. But it’s those exact things that have brought you to where you are today.
This doesn’t mean it’s impossible, it means it requires an approach that works for you and supports you. Having support is giving you the best chance to be successful. A person who can guide you and help you adapt your plans when needed. Someone who can be there when you need the support and cheer you on when you succeed. I’m happy to have a chat to anyone who’s ready to make some changes so we can work out how best to get you to where you want to be.

Keeping on track with nutrition for me is so much a mental thing. If I eat well, I just feel better. I could look exactly the same but feel so much more confident. It brings calmness as well because I know that I’m making choices that are good for my body. The choices I make mean I have energy to run, to lift weights and to just bring the best version of myself to the world.

I often draw stick figures to remind myself what exercise I’m referring to. But clients will tell you, that even then, I often forget what kind of weird exercise I had dreamed up 😂
This one looks a heck of a lot like someone who’s had a few to many wines on a night out. Maybe I do teach you valuable life skills 😂😂🍷

I don’t love what my body looks like.
But equally, I don’t hate what it looks like.
I love my body for what I can do, how it allows me to move and how it’s got me through my life thus far.
But in terms of loving my looks, Im neutral.
And neutral is pretty good in my opinion. It’s accepting my body for what it is on any given day at any given time at any given stage of life. It’s treating my body with respect and love. It’s knowing I need to fuel it, move it and rest it. It’s not giving up, it isn’t not caring. It’s accepting that it is what it is and that’s that.

I had to go to the Dr today and while I was there she did the general checks. As she asked me to step on the scales, I reminded her that I will do it backwards and I don’t want to know my weight. When I stepped off she said it was good and that I’ve lost weight since my appointment one year ago. I don’t know if it was 100g or 1kg and I don’t care to know. I use to place so much of my worth on the number on the scale. Now, I have a pair of pants that are my check in pants. They’re fairly baggy after being very fitting about 7 years ago when I lost a significant amount of weight. I don’t know how much, I guess a few short sizes 😆 I don’t diet, but I’m very aware of what I eat. I have moments where I go of track a bit and for me it’s not about punishing myself for that but gently reminding myself about how great I feel when I focus on eating good meals and moving well. I have my health at the forefront of my mind. Always. I don’t drink alcohol, but love coffee and enjoy a kombucha. I don’t eat takeout but have my home versions down pat. I limit sugar but love me some dark chocolate or a spoon of Nutella. I love running, walking, hiking, lifting heavy, but equally love a morning pilates session or a sleepy yoga flow.
I think what I’m trying to get across is that nutrition and exercise is so much more than weight. It’s so much more than a number on the scale.

It’s been a day, actually it’s been a few weeks 😮‍💨 but as Mum reminded me today, it’s all learning opportunities. And that’s the truth of it all. Even in those moments when you’re utterly in the pits of s**t 💩 it moulds us, breaks us and pushes us to grow.

Sneaky marketing….
So many women are oblivious to the sneaky tactics that influencers use to draw you in.
Let’s face it, a man talking about female specific issues is a sure fire way to catch most females attention. Add to that, make it about perimenopause or trouble areas of a women’s body.
Boom 💥 you’ve netted in some business.
While there is truth to SOME of the topics that get advertised to you. Most are just marketing and targeting your insecurities and areas of interest.
Always do your research 🧐

Our Story

Hey! Thanks for stopping to read my page, get your self a cup of tea, sit back and have a read.

My name is Lauren and I am a Personal trainer and Health and Wellness coach working from home here in central Auckland. I have been training women now for around 6 years and in this time have grown, gained experience and developed my skills in an ever changing industry. Recently I have gained a qualification as a Health and Wellness coach, allowing me to offer my clients the complete package of health.

I think through past experiences and my own personal growth, which hasn't always been easy or comfortable, I am able to offer a very unique personal training and health coach experience. I am able to relate on a level of complete and empathetic understanding of most of my clients needs, goals and struggles.

I have a true passion to see women become more empowered, confident and happy with who they are in a world where we are constantly being bombarded by often unrealistic expectations. Expectations often place upon ourselves by social media, society and sadly and to often, ourselves. By working with women on their fitness, nutrition and lifestyle I can help and support clients to learn to love exactly who they are and what they bring to this world. Supporting them to become the best version of themselves and allowing them to use these accomplishments in all areas of their lives.
