Nest Health Connections

Nest Health Connections We're a corporate wellness company revolutionizing health + happiness in the workplace. Why is that? Too complicated? Inconvenient? Not interested? Intimidating?

After spending 20+ years in corporate America, Kristin Markey; mother of 3, wife, sales & marketing executive, yogi, outdoor enthusiast and overall health and fitness nut, decided she wanted to create and implement a corporate wellness program in which employees want to participate. Corporate wellness programs are not a new concept, yet the research still shows that only 24% of employees who are o

ffered a wellness program actually participate. Kristin has contracted with the best wellness professionals in Colorado to ensure the highest level of service. Her focus is to create custom programming for each client, analyzing once a quarter and maximizing participation. Not everyone is interested in working out in high impact or cardio training, so maybe those individuals learn how to lead walking meetings and make changes to their diet. Others may already have a fitness routine, but have high stress throughout the day and would benefit from a meditation practice. There are so many options to improve your physical and mental wellness throughout each day. If your employer has those options for you it makes it easier to say yes to good choices. Kristin’s high energy and enthusiasm motivates everyone around her. It’s not about just losing weight, it’s about feeling great mentally and physically and making healthy choices every day.

Welcome to my kitchen! ☀️ It's my favorite day of the month....cooking for our clients!

This month's cooking demo was all about “eating with the sun” and bringing in fresh, seasonal ingredients that support energy, digestion, and overall well- being.

At Nest Health Connections, our cooking demos are always designed to align with our monthly themes… and this month, we’re leaning into Mother Nature as our original wellness guide.
On the menu:
• Nourishing minestrone
• Fresh green goddess dressing
Simple, seasonal, and exactly how our bodies are meant to eat.
That’s the goal; make healthy feel approachable, practical, and actually doable. Please LMK if you're interested in the recipes, I'd be happy to share. 👩‍🍳

Happy Earth Day 🌿

No complicated routines today, just the basics:
• Get outside
• Move your body
• Soak up some sunshine
• Breathe a little deeper
• Stop and smell the roses

Nature doesn’t ask for perfection… just presence.

What’s one small way you’ll connect with the outdoors today?

Q1 is the toughest quarter for a 5K challenge.
Weather can mean:
❄️ snow
🌧 mud
🌬 cold winds
🌤 or a random perfect spring day
And this year we saw all of it.

Employees across Marco Technologies completed our Q1 Virtual 5K in conditions ranging from snowy sidewalks to treadmills to muddy trails. We even had a participant spot an owl mid-walk.

One of my favorite parts of this challenge: Participants could earn extra entries into the prize drawing by inviting a coworker to join them. Because movement is better when it's shared. Dogs joined. Coworkers joined. And hundreds of steps added up across the country.

Huge congratulations to everyone who participated in our first 5K of 2026.

Most of us were taught how to push through stress. Very few of us were taught how to regulate our nervous system and stay steady within it.

We spend a lot of time thoughtfully planning the year ahead at Nest Health Connections. Themes, speakers, challenges, and programming are mapped out months in advance. But sometimes the most important thing we can do is respond in real time.

Last week we launched a special Steady in the Noise series to support employees at a time when many people are carrying the weight of world events while still showing up to work each day. The series included two short nervous system resets and meditations and an outstanding keynote from performance psychologist Dr. Alyse Munoz, EdD, LCSW.

Dr. Munoz shared a powerful insight. Most of us were trained to push through stress. Very few of us were taught how to regulate our nervous system and stay steady within it. Her tools were simple, practical, and immediately useful. Exactly the kind of support people need when the noise of the world, work, and life all collide.

It was also a good reminder for me as a wellbeing practitioner that strong wellbeing programs are not just planned. They are alive, responsive, and designed for the moments when people need them most.

Curious to hear from others here:
What are your go-to nervous system regulators when life gets noisy? Movement, breathwork, time outside, cold water, something else? Always looking for new ideas to share with the organizations we support.

🎙️ NEW PODCAST: Resilience, Gratitude + Nervous System Grounding
Resilience isn’t something you grit your teeth and power through. It’s something you build. In our newest episode, I sit down withBritt Ritchie, DNP, PMHNP-BC and founder of Mind Alchemy Mental Health to talk about what real resilience looks like in daily life and how nervous system grounding plays a powerful role. In this short, but powerful conversation, we explore: how gratitude strengthens resilience as well as simple grounding practices you can use immediately!

I love this episode because is practical, science-backed, and full of tools you can try the same day you listen. Link to our Happier + Healthier podcast is right here: https://www.nesthealthconnections.com/podcast . I would be grateful if you listened and if it resonates, please share it with someone who could use a few simple, steadying tools right now. 🙏

I say this every month, our cooking demo day is one of my favorite days.

This week’s menu: one-pan Greek lemon chicken with roasted veggies — heart-healthy, colorful, and weeknight realistic.

I love teaching recipes like this because they prove something important:

You do not need complicated plans or extreme resets.
You need simple upgrades you’ll actually repeat.

Healthy fats. Lean protein. Real food. Shared tables.

Thank you for the fantastic recipe!! (You can find a copy of the recipe on our website - top of the recipe section or just respond to me and I’ll send to you.) 🙏🥗👩‍🍳❤️

I’m not typically a long-form writer (long for me usually means more than a paragraph 😉), but this month I challenged myself and decided this would be my tiny win.
February marks my 9th year as an entrepreneur and business owner, and it felt like the right moment to share what’s mattered most along the way.
Over the years, one thing has consistently stood out to me: the importance of connection. It’s always been at the heart of Nest, and after nearly nine years, it feels more relevant than ever.
So I wrote a short blog (yes, with lots of bullets) about why connection is the missing metric in corporate wellness and how we intentionally build it into our programs.
Are blogs still relevant? Maybe, maybe not. But I’d truly be grateful if you took a few minutes to read this one:

Connection is the missing metric in corporate wellness. Learn how intentional connection boosts wellbeing, engagement, resilience, and performance at work.

Monthly cooking demos = one of my favorite parts of what I do 💛

This month we leaned into the Mediterranean lifestyle—simple ingredients, bold flavors, real nourishment, and food that actually fits real life. Swipe to see:
• Me in my happy place (surrounded by food)
• The Mediterranean bowl (yes, it tasted as good as it looks)
• And John, my most loyal taste-tester and biggest fan of these demos 😄

Healthy doesn’t have to be complicated. It can be colorful, flavorful, and deeply satisfying.

Grateful for the people. Proud of the impact. Ready for what’s next.

2025 was full of movement, meaning, and powerful moments of wellbeing across our Nest community. From events and retreats to 5Ks, cooking demos, and real conversations, we watched teams show up for themselves and each other.

Here’s to deeper connection, smarter wellness, and more human moments in 2026.

Happy New Year friends!!

✨ New Blog: The Gentle Art of Deepening Relationships Through Gratitude ✨

As we head into Thanksgiving, a season of reflection and appreciation, this feels like the perfect moment to explore how gratitude shapes the relationships that support us most.

Our newest blog is written by Britt Ritchie, Psychiatric DNP and founder of Mind Alchemy Mental Health — who beautifully unpacks how authentic expressions of gratitude strengthen emotional connection, support mental wellbeing, and create the kind of closeness that makes relationships feel safe, steady, and deeply fulfilling. This isn’t about grand gestures. It’s about the small, honest moments that quietly deepen connection.

As you gather around the table tomorrow, consider one person who’s made your life a little lighter — and let them know.

Please read the full blog to discover simple ways gratitude can deepen your most important relationships.
Wishing you a warm, connected, gratitude-filled Thanksgiving. 🤍

Explore the gentle art of gratitude and how small, authentic moments of appreciation deepen relationships, foster connection, and enhance wellbeing.

We have a new podcast!!

GLP-1s … Ozempic … Wegovy … Mounjaro.
You’ve heard the buzz. But what’s actually true?
This month, Abby Kranitz and I invited Katie Sorensen, NP and founder of back for a deep dive on how these meds work, the benefits, the side effects, and why whole foods + simple nutrition 👩‍🍳 still matter more than ever.
If you’re GLP-curious or trying to make sense of the headlines — this episode is for you.
