About Shaun Bowler Body & Mind.

Shaun Bowler Body & Mind is me, Shaun Bowler, practicing and offering yoga, mindfulness and meditation training, acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) and other wellness practices. I playfully focus on the bodymind connection. I trained as a Yoga Alliance RYT200 teacher with Katie Lane. I’ve studied human physiology and psychology and I’m registered both as a psychologist and exercise practitioner. My research in cognitive neuroscience found that we differ widely in our capacity for ekāgratā (एकाग्रता), or ‘one-pointed’ attention. When we still the mind and achieve ekāgratā our choices expand. Yoga asana (physical yoga) strengthens our capacity for ekāgratā. Yoga thus opens the door to freedom and choice. It also offers us a doorway to acceptance of ourselves and the universe they are - perfect and whole in this moment. Our body, breath and being in community are the gateways to greater connection. I invite you to join me in exploring these practices.

My influences include the latest research in neuroscience, and the joyful messiness of life itself. I humbly acknowledge all teachers who have nurtured me along the path.
