Who can actually participate in a clinical trial?

Clinical trials are investigated in two groups - healthy volunteers and patients.

1️⃣ Healthy volunteers are generally healthy people, who aren’t on any long-term medications.

2️⃣ Patients are people who have the disease or condition that the potential new treatment is for.

Healthy volunteers are typically needed during early phase clinical trials while patients are needed for later phase clinical trials.

These trials help determine the safety, best dose, and how the body processes the potential new medication, as well as whether they work in treating the target disease.

If you’re considering a clinical trial, but still have questions - contact our team or check out our FAQs here 👉nzcr.co.nz/participants/faqs/

Are you considering a vasectomy?

We’re currently looking for participants for an upcoming clinical trial investigating the effectiveness of an alternative, non-invasive form of long-term contraception for men – you could think of it like the male version of the pill.

If you’re male, aged between 28 – 70 years old, have a BMI of between 18 to 35 kg/m², and no known history of testicular disease, you might be a good fit for this study.

Our clinical trials involve an investigational drug and some study assessments. During your short stay you will have assessments done, including blood samples, to see how you’re responding to the study treatment. This is an investigational drug, and therefore it may have side effects which are unknown.
