It was wonderful to see such a critical mass last week on the Solstice.

Come together for class again this week in Hotu phase of the moon.

Connecting to our feet, to how we stand, to how we stand up and to how we stand together, and how we support our whole beings in the winter months will be our starting point for class this week.

Class this week is happening with Becca - it falls on Mawharu - as we approach the Full Moon this Sunday. A time for connection, discussion and rest as we gear up for a higher energy phase.

Yoga works on Rakaunui,
Happy International Womens Day and full moon. I write this on the full moon. The moon setting this morning was extraordinary, did anyone see it?

Tomorrow’s class falls on Rakaunui, the moon at it's full potential is high in energy.

Yoga works for Huna. The maramataka guides us, Huna means hidden. Or what we can't see. This week we use listening and to all of our senses to tune into what we can no longer see.

Welcome back this week after a small pause in our schedule last week.

In response to Sharons newsletter and the desire to integrate moving in our lives as playful rather than work we will enjoy some explorative and gentle flow this week.

After the significant movement of our landscape over the past couple of weeks, I've had the desire to play with movement that is grounding and that also celebrates some time for stillness. We'll explore these concepts in class.

Our hearts go out to all those who are still struggling with surviving through the impact of the slips in the west coast around Tāmaki Makaurau, and flooding down in the Hawkes Bay.

See you there.

Becca

Classes reconvene this Thursday evening for 2023. This weeks class falls just after a New Moon, the closest New Moon to earth in 993 years. This Thursday will fall on Okoro, a day for planting; ideas, new ways of doing things, trying new things.

It is also the beginning of the year, a time for planning and realising our dreams.

See Juliet Batten's blog on Realising our Dreams for 2023.

Come along and start dreaming on Thursday together.

Green fingers are about more than gardening; they are about commitment to regeneration and environmental care for the planet.

Kia ora koutou,

We love into the watery phase of the moon this week. Last week we moved with the connection between the spine and the tail in movement. This week we will bring a watery quality to the movement, referring to some of the Shin Somatics animals such as the Sea Horse and Dolphin, and we might find our own sea animal references.

This seems like the most natural path to follow after a week recording sacred water sources near Whakatane.
